Pretty good. The one thing is you know the main story behind Jekyll and Hyde, and there's not a whole lot more to it. shifty

Brave New World is excellent. Frankenstein is hard to understand, but the story is chilling.

You liked Brave New World? Got through about 35 pages or so and nearly fell asleep. Might give it another go.

I like the part where they nonchalantly talk about some guy dying years later because the lady forgot to give him the vaccine. Laughing

Not in spoilers because it's irrelevant to the plot.

I have been plotting my own response to 1984 and Brave New World. Hopefully I finish it by the end of the summer.

Sorry. Sad I have a bad relationship with classic literature.

It's crazy that he came up with a story about genetic engineering in 1923 or whatever it was.

Finished reading Ender's Game. The only thing really interesting was the twist at the end. Paradoxically, it also killed the suspense since there was nothing else in the book to look forward to, and they didn't even bother explaining how and why etc. Meh.

I found out that Altered Carbon is part of a trilogy. Going to read the other two books. Takeshi Kovacs. not worthy

I never read anything unless it's assigned to me. Mischief However, I did read a few chapters of the book "Outliers", and it was really good. Had a lot of scientific anomalies in it, factual, etc.

Heard Brave New World is great, it's an option on the curriculum by my class didn't do it, but others did. People that don't even read books said it was good.

I finished Brave New World. I think I might read Catch 22 or Terry Pratchett's The Long Earth to expose myself to modern satire. think

    Any other recommendations?

No, but it's still quite good, if you like Gatsby you should like this.

Gatsby is not my favourite book of all time, but it is beautifully written and the character development is exceptional. It is probably second to none in that department.

I will look into that, thank you.

See personally I felt character devolpmebt was its downfall, I felt no sense of progression in any of the characters, Gatsby never really realises the futility of his dreams or accepts the reality of his existence, Daisy remains as materialistic and cowardice, Nick remains as judgemental etc.

My favourite book of all time would be the Fellowship of the ring. Read it before the movie, and I would give a lot to erase that memory and read it again. You truly appreciate the vastness of the world Frodo is venturing into.

It is not exactly character development, but I am talking about the slow and deliberate pacing of the disclosure of information about Gatsby, and how that raises him on a pedestal whilst condemning him at the same time.

I'd agree with that, the imagery is amazing in it.

What books would you recommend for me Glen as your favourites?

Apparently all the characters in Gatsby are amoral. Sounds fantastic.

I don't know of I'd say amoral, I'd say they more adopt morals that are convenient to them.

Sounds amoral. Not psychopathic, but unconcerned with moral guidelines.
