Point is you and many others are giving him shit with no grounds for making that claim. In 8 games he has 2 goals and 6 assists which is basically him contributing to a goal each game yet. Henry in his first season did not start like this yet people give Gervinho more shit when he is performing week in week out.
You're just hating him for the same of hating him.

No I dislike him because he hasn't got half the ability of Nasri

Fair enough. A bit harsh, but to each their own.

Doesn't matter about who's got the most ability. Gervinho is far more productive from left wing than Nasri ever was for us.

So is Arshavin. Doesn't mean I'd have him in our starting XI over Nasri.Chris wrote:Doesn't matter about who's got the most ability. Gervinho is far more productive from left wing than Nasri ever was for us.

Exactly that, Nasri was always the playmaker type of player... Gervinho's just a *I'll try and dribble 10 times, hopefully I'll get past one person atleast once* winger. Even so, Nasri has like 6 assists in 8 games after playing with better players, who can doubt that? I really do not see the difference between N'Zgobia and Gerboue

Arshavin doesn't start because he's lost pace and has very low workrate.Steadman wrote:So is Arshavin. Doesn't mean I'd have him in our starting XI over Nasri.Chris wrote:Doesn't matter about who's got the most ability. Gervinho is far more productive from left wing than Nasri ever was for us.
Gervinho has fantastic pace, workrate and productivity.

He doesn't show much work-rate and his productivity is poor.

Arshavin hasn't lost his pace, he's still the best dribbler in our entire squad, it's just his workrate and inconsistency that lets him down.Chris wrote:Arshavin doesn't start because he's lost pace and has very low workrate.Steadman wrote:

Are you trying to say that you would rather Gervinho in our XI than Nasri?

Nasri was wasted on the wing and Gervinho is far more dangerous from that position. Also has contributed more than Nasri did when he started his Arsenal career.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
As much as I love Nasri as a player I would much rather have Gervinho on the wing because he is a winger. I begged for Nasri to be in the middle of the park for years where he would have been his most dangerous.
How is his productivity poor? He is active the entire 90 minutes and is a constant threat to the defense.

5 of those assists came in a two game span so that doesn't really mean anything. The difference between Nasri with City and Gervinho with us is advantage us because Gervinho has been much more productive in the matches he has played. Gervinho's style of play is just like most wingers, try an beat his man with his pace or some trickery. Hell that is a lot of what Eden Hazard does yet so many of you are on his dick.

RVP still doesn't wanna sign a new contract. Seems he's 50/50 to stay or leave now.

I don't blame him. Until we increase our team quality and show we can pose a title challenge I don't see him resigning. I do think in the end though he will stay with us because Arsene surely can't be stupid enough to let another star walk for peanuts.

I'm referring more to his success rate.AriseForLife wrote:As much as I love Nasri as a player I would much rather have Gervinho on the wing because he is a winger. To be honest, that's bullshit. His work-rate is decent, he's not a Kuyt type player but he does track back. As much as Nasri did anyway. And when it comes to productivity, he's contributed to more goals than anyone bar RVP. 7 assists and 2 goals in 9 appearances, it took Nasri 44 games before he had contributed to 9 goals.
Nasri is a better player but them two things you mentioned are probably the areas Gervinho out does Nasri.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
I've not seen much work-rate from him, not that I overly care because work-rate is overrated and usually compensates for being a limited player. I'm referring to his productivity rate yes hes got quite a few assists but to be honest he fucking should be with the amount of chances he gets. He should even have double his tally.

RVP should have over 20 goals with the chances he's had. Every player misses a chance now and then.
