Thoughts on Arteta so far?

Nothing special. I knew that before we signed him though.

Arteta is currently the best passer (statistically) in the league this season or someshit. His set pieces are friggin shit though.

Average. Although he has been slightly better than i expected

I like him, he's not been shit but he hasn't been amazing either.

He had a very good game on Saturday and his passing has been tidy. He doesn't really offer much in the last third though which is a problem, particularly when Ramsey has an off game.

true, can't really listen to a 19yr old's promises.. but if we can hold onto him for at least 6 more years.. i will be very pleased. at least now we have some ammunition on him if he ever does betray that verbal commitment.

I'v been impressed by Arteta whenever I'v seen him play for yous. He's a player who does the simple thing really well. He's never going to replace Fabregas but then again who can.

Keeps things balanced in midfield, doesn't actually do anything to create though. Ramsey's more valuable but Arteta's important nonetheless

He frequently gives away the ball in the centre of midfield. He can disappear for most of the match then pop up with a goal or an assist. which isn't good enough for a central midfielder.

You obviously only watched him at the start of this season. He was amazing before his injury and in the last 7 games or so he's started to show that quality again.

He has a tendency to give the ball away more than he should but he's young and will improve on this, especially at a club like Arsenal.

Disappear? Apart from Wilshere, Ramsey is the best in our midfield at offering his teammates an option to pass to, he always wants the ball and never goes unnoticed unless he's having an off day (which isn't very often lately). His passing is superb for his age, he's also not afraid to play a decisive final ball unlike Arteta, he offers a lot more directness than Arteta as well.

You have to understand he's 20 years of age and has come back from a leg break, right now he's showing the form he had when he was 18 and is consistently improving.

Pretty equal for me, both have the potential to be amazing though.

I still see Wilshere as a more advanced midfielder though. Hopefully he gets his chance there when he returns.

Ramsey's been quality of late but I prefer Wilshere and think he's the better player. His achievements last season were phenomenal for someone his age.

I believe if Arsenal can keep hold of them both, they could have one of the finest midfields in Europe once they reach their prime. However at the moment I would say Wilshere is better due to his ability to control games. It will be interesting to see how he gets on without Fabregas in front of him though.

Something like that, Song needs to improve his temperament and positional ability though to cement his place.

Song is fine as he is even if he does occasionally neglect his defensive duties. Coquelin will hopefully be excellent anyway. And I think Ramsey will be the furthest forward of the midfield three.
