A good run of form here and there and a average fourth place finish is not good enough. We've been told for too long now that we're taking steps to improve, yet every year we seem to lose some quality in the squad, while our rivals add qualityAriseForLife wrote:Because our ignorant supporters and board will always allow him complete autonomy when it comes to the team. I just can't see how Arsene can get us back as challengers if he sticks with the same mentality.
Arsene should swallow his pride and admit he and the board have made mistakes. We need to get the right players in before it's too late. If he or the board can't do that, then we need to find someone who can.

Arise stop putting Gervinho up with the likes of Wilshere and Van Persie, he has been fucking shit and is lucky to be called a footballer.

The gradual decline myth needs to fucking stop. I've already said that we're fluctuating but our team last year was evidently better than that of the previous year. And the team of two years ago was infinitely better than the crap of 08/09. Yes, we've worsened this year. Our best player remembered his lifelong dream. It's unfortunate but shit happens. Wenger has done well to rebuild and we're looking somewhat formidable again and I can assure you we'll continue to look decent in large stages of a couple of competitions. But look at how we lose. A freak miskick from Kosicelny, a crap run of form worthy of relegation, horrendous ball control from Bendtner ruining a glorious opportunity. How does Wenger improve these things? This is shit that the players need to fucking sort out themselves. They need to take a long hard look at themselves and tell themselves that we're going out to win this and then prove it on the pitch. Shifting all the blame on Wenger is the pathetically easy thing to do. Most of you will regret it when he leaves and we're left with a clueless cunt who doesn't know a damn thing about moving the club forward.

Walcott tripped over his shadow? Blame it on Wenger.
Jenkinson put his shirt on backwards? Blame it on Wenger.
Mertesacker took a shit in the urinal? Blame it on Wenger.
For fuck's sake. I'm off now. Have fun slagging off Wenger in my absence. I've said my bit for the day.

03-04 points - 90
04-05 points - 83
05-06 points - 67
06-07 points - 68
07-08 points - 83
08-09 points - 72
09-10 points - 75
10-11 points - 68
It's quite an inconsistent record to be honest. It doesn't tell the whole story but it's certainly a big decline.
The last time we finished on 68 points though, the season after we finished on 83.
Potential 2nd place candidates this season?

We decline and then we get better. I said that we're not part of a gradual decline that has started since the trophyless run began, but rather a series of fluctuations .

3 years of serious decline whilst buying reinforcements isn't?
Wenger has tried to fix it and it gets shitter and shitter, to me that's just a decline. You're talking about fluctuations but this season has been dreadful, the ones before we lost only a couple of key players, this season we've lost the only key players we had that kept us from borderline shit

Thank God he's been pretty much injury-free for about a year or so, with his current fitness level I doubt he'll get injured, at least not injuries caused by a lack of fitness etc. Always a scary time when it's international break though, for Vermaelen too

Has anyone got a list of Vieira and Bergkamp's red card records?
I know Vieira had 13 red cards in the PL but I want to see who they were against.

I agree. We used to alternate 1 and 2 with United then suddenly Chelsea starts spending money and we stop spending money. We go from favorites to win the league to favorites to just stay among the top 3 or 4 in the league. Its quite sad when you think about our decline.Steadman wrote:A good run of form here and there and a average fourth place finish is not good enough. I think the board needs to be fired by Kroenke because many of these "football men" are stuck in the past and/or only see this as a business and nothing more. Granted it is a business first and entertainment tool second, but they are only in it to line their pockets for the most part.
I'm sorry but only a complete fool would dispute the fact that we have been in a decline since 2004/05. The overall quality of our team following the departure of Vieira started to decline and we basically stopped bringing in players to challenge for spots and got stagnant. No one is completely blaming Wenger, but HE is to blame for the shit that happened this summer because he refused to buy and held on to hope that Nasri and Fabregas would stay. Basically everyone on earth knew Fabregas wasn't staying and Nasri was basically gone even though he didn't really say anything until the move happened. You can't sit here and tell me that our decline is a myth when its a FACT. Title contenders year after year to fighting to stay 3rd or 4th now. That is called a decline.BladeGunner14 wrote:The gradual decline myth needs to fucking stop.
