Dean wrote:Suárez is mentally strong and I expect him to start putting these chances away. You know it's funny, people saying we need strikers who can finish blah blah... you know these chances he's missing, they are, in a way half chances, because he creates them out of nothing, it's not asif' they're chances that's been put on a plate for him, he makes them out of nothing. Most strikers wouldn't even get in to them positions because they ain't got half of Suárez' ability. World class finisher or not.
Prospective.
What I've been thinking. Eventually, however long that takes, he's going to be banging in goals left right and center.

He was poor, once again.
____
We haven't got a single striker that can play on the last man.

What Dean said is spot on, but it's still infuriating. Everything he does is perfect, his movement, he beats everyone with ease, his positioning. But the amount of chances he missed yesterday was abysmal.

Think someone on here made an interesting observation, after all the trouble Kenny goes through to defend Carroll, doesn't really show much confidence in him when it comes to the team sheet. Goal against Everton, right back down to the bench. He's not going to get anywhere if his momentum is cut short like that.

Fuck Carroll. I don't give a shit if he does well or not. It's all to do with the price tag, take that away and there's nothing.

Suarez could play on the last man, he'd just be wasted there.

Might as well say fuck Kenny than, he's the one who had the intelligence to to splash out on the next Shearer.

No, I back Kenny 100%. But again what you're saying comes down to money. I'm forgetting about that and if he does well fair enough but if he doesn't then I'm not going to back him.Eternal Witcher wrote:Jord wrote:Fuck Carroll. I don't give a shit if he does well or not. In all honesty, just takings things as they are as of now, Kenny has made some big shockers in the market. He should take some stick for that. Add to that his team selections. Some of his decisions just baffle me, though that's always the case with managers for better or for worse.

So now you are giving certain players, what not even 10 games to decide if they are going to be good or not. And maybe it wont workout for Kenny in the long run, but im afraid its going to take maybe longer than some people think to get Liverpool back to being where we all think they belong.

Look at the bolded bit, I am not actually calling out Kenny on his signings, it's still too early for that. But things are not guaranteed to change, the chances of Carroll turning into a 'world class striker' aren't the best.

Downing has added much needed pace on the wings.
He is predictable as fuck though. Good player, but I have my doubts weather he is a top 4 side winger.

Kuyt has been pretty shit this season so far.

Stuart Downing is basically Theo Walcott with less pace and a better cross.

"I find myself shaking my head at the memory of grown men throwing bananas and racially abusing John Barnes. His colour seemed to have been an issie for many people except those at L'pool. 'He's not a black player,' I kept reminding the Press. 'He's a player. ' We just laughed about the obsession with the colour of John's skin. In one team meeting at Melwood, I explained a certain tactical shape I wanted by moving figures around a magnetic board. Ten of them were red and one was black 'That one's you, Barnsey. Everybody laughed. Digger certainly did."
I have to get around to read Kenny autobiography. Been out for ages

No, no. no. Downing's a footballer, Walcott's more a fucking sprinter than a footballer.

Good footballer, one that is so predictable Norwich defenders just stood off him and let him attempt his hollywood crosses into the box.Dean wrote:Steadman wrote:Stuart Downing is basically Theo Walcott with less pace and a better cross.

I agree, i think he is fucking shocking and i hope his contract runs out without being renewed next summer. Doesn't excuse Downing for being a poor footballer either.Dean wrote:Filippo Inzaghi wrote: Good footballer, one that is so predictable Norwich defenders just stood off him and let him attempt his hollywood crosses into the box.

Downing and Walcott are both shit football players.
The only difference is one is severely over-rated by his fans whilst the other is criticized by his non-deluded fan base for being shit 90% of the time.

So you over-rate Walcott and then label us as delusional?

Downing's always been known as a bit of a 'shithouse'. That's always been him problem. The talent is there, it's the mentality that seems to be the issue with him.
