Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I posted this the other night, but no one noticed.
Tom Werner has said Groundshare is dead.
Apparently there will be stadium news in 2 weeks.
And apparently we have plans to expand Anfield to 63K. Cost approx £130m
The club need help from the council with redevelopment etc to do this and would also need help with compulsory purchase schemes.
That was from some fella on TLW who is 'well connected' .

Can't say I know much about what is going on behind the scenes, but from a sentimental point of view I'd love to see Anfield redeveloped, I'm sure FSG will take the fans' views into account when making their decision, which is good.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
The England full back, linked with Manchester City among others, has quickly turned into one of the Toffees' star turns with his dazzling crosses and runs from the left-back position.
But Baines says that despite the interest from Liverpool, there was only one place he wanted to play his football.
"I was made aware of it, but as far as I am concerned, it was never an option," he said.
"When you're from Liverpool, it's either Liverpool or Everton, one and not the other.
"For me, it wouldn't have got beyond the story stage. You are one and you stick with that - you don't do both.

Baines wouldn't have been worth the price we would have paid considering what we got Enrique for, my opinion, obviously.

Enrique's the best left back in the Premiership.

Good point.
Baines is probably better going forward, but Enrique is a rock at the back.

No offense, but whenever you sign a quality player he instantly somehow becomes "the best in the premiership". It's rather predictable, and based on the performance of Liverpool it can't actually be true everytime either. I admitt he's quality though.

Enrique over Baines any day. Especially since he's our only Spanish regular.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Enrique isn't better than Ashely Cole but he's arguably better or equally as good as anyone else. He's a monster, he's got pace, he's got technique, he's got power. Coleman was child's play to him. He also dominated Walcott like he was a mere speck of dust. He's been a rock all season and hasn't really made any errors, whereas at this point last season, Koncheskey made about 100.
I love him already.

Shocking really, when you compare our left backs of this and last season. Couldn't be better off.

I have to point out that he was the one who last touched the ball before Modric smashed it in, he was the one who was unable to prevent Defoe from shooting and left huge room on the left to begin with, and that it was his missed marking of Adebayor that led to the 4-0 goal (although that can also be blamed on the central defenders)...
A very good player, but let's not get carried away.

Everyone had a shit game, and the defence was all over the place.
Plus the midfield was a shambles.

I agree Cole is quality but imo gone down hill a lot like Evra (not as bad obviously), Enrique is solid, can't be beaten whereas Cole is beaten pretty regularly, Nani made a fucking mug of Cole, a fucking MUG, I bet you anything Enrique keeps Nani quiet.
Ashley Cole of 09/10 is a different story though.

Very true. Andy Carroll went from being a good player to being the next van Basten, Jordan Henderson has been compared with Xavi and Iniesta, Fernando Torres went from being the best striker in Europe to a shit player worth £1m. Normally Cadbury fights the delusion, so maybe he's being sarcastic.

He's part of the defence, and he's directly involved in 3 out of 4 goals. That's pretty bad. As I said he's a very good player, but you're basing the "best in the premiership" arguement on matches against teams with relatively weak wingers. If he keeps Nani quiet, and follows up with Malouda and/or Silva/Agüero then we can talk about best in the league. As for the midfield was in shambles, yes, but he still should have been aware enough of that to keep his side relatively "clean". It's telling that 3 out of 4 goals came on Spurs right side... that is not to say he's a bad defender, he had a bad day at the office and that happens to everyone, but I do find it a weak point in the "best in the league" arguement.
