RR is comparing calling someone Northern English to Northern Irish.

The point is that it is wholly incorrect to say "I am not English" when you are from the North of England, and the same applies to Ireland.

Thats the point Im trying to make to RR. Ireland and N.Ireland are two different nationalities.

No its not, your nationality is determined by the country you are born in as I said already.

My nationality isn't Northern English or European, however I am both a Northerner and a European. Equally a Northern Irishman is both Irish and European, independent of his Nationality.

I would classify myself as European because I hold a British passport. A British passport has nothing to do with Ireland, I live in a seperate country to Ireland and have not applied for Irish citizenship.

Ireland and Northern Ireland are 2 seperate countries, just as Slovakia and Czech Republic are.

Ireland is an island though.
