James wrote:Dean, why has he changed from what was succesful last season? You destroyed Fulham at their own place (which isn't an easy thing to do) then he goes and signs immobile players such as Adam and brings another one like Carroll into the team.

Nothing has changed at all (style wise). Prior to Stoke (who we battered anyway) and Spurs today, people were raving about us, beating Arsenal away 2-0, then battering Bolton 3-0 (could of been 10-0) the football we played against Bolton, easily surpassed how we played against Fulham and we've improved a LOT since last year. You can't seriously compare the second half of the season to the start of the season now, last year we played without pressure, it was off, we could do our thing, now, the expectation is sky high, it's the start of the season, we're a new team, still gelling, lots of new players, the circumstances are totally different to last year, so I don't see how it's comparable.

The performance against Arsenal was very poor, you just got lucky that day. Wasn't great against Sunderland either.

Maybe Kenny didn't want to change the style. But replacing players such Meireles and Maxi with immobile players like Carroll and Adam is gonna have an impact on the type of football you play. Your start to the season has been easy, yet you've managed to fuck up along the way.

Sunderland - Since that game they didn't win until today.
Arsenal - looked and impressive result but looking how they've played since then, doesn't seem that special.
Bolton - Also been poor this season.
    Stoke - Lost
And today was your first real test and you got hammered.

Created enough chances to win it comfortably but I wouldn't put it down as a good performance.

Anyway, predicted the thread would go like this when we hit a little bumpy patch or lost a few games, all the negativity would come surfacing. Ah well, guess that's just football. We'll beat Wolves next week and we'll go back to being the best thing since sliced bread, top 4 is on, Kenny the right man. We'll get beat against Everton and we'll be a sham of a team, Kenny not good enough, style of the team is all wrong, it's not working, won't get in the top 4. Laughing Then we beat Man Utd and we'll be mounting a title challenge.

    Brilliant. rofl

What does the Premier League form table look like now since Dogleash took over? I remember hearing all about this form table all the way until you played Tottenham last season when they destroyed you on your own ground.

I still have full confidence in Kenny and the team Laughing I actually thought we would lose to Tottenham anyway, seems like a bit of a bogey ground for us recently, Stoke we battered but could get a performance and that's what the story for many teams to go there. We'll win Wolves and it'll be up to the squad to build on that. I'm telling you once Stevie comes back everything will look a little better because him and Suarez will click and dominate teams. Just watch.

I think we have the right to complain. Today was probably the worst performance I've seen by Liverpool since the Hodgson era. It was so messy.

I think we've all got a bit of 'knee-jerkness' in us, football is just that type of game. But I'm fucking nothing compared to some of the people in here and just generally what this thread is like, no way José.

Well Jamie like Dean said, there's plenty of kneejerkers in this thread and we all do it at one point but I've always seen Dean as one of the people who do it less often than others. I mean look at this entire charade going on at the moment. People are questioning if Kenny Dalglish is the right manager, people think we're building a team that will play like the one while Hodgson was here.

I should of mentioned that it's not just this thread. Also they're not literally saying "Kenny out". But it'll come on eventually, you'll see. We'll lose two on the trot and people will go mad again.

Cadbury, you're doing exactly that, well certainly what you said indicated that, now whether you wrote what you meant wrong, then fair enough, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but if you meant what you wrote, then you were quite clearly questioning Kenny.

I think people are over exaggerating this. We went down 1-0 to a very good goal. While we still had 11 men, yeah we weren't playing great but that's because Spurs came out in front of their home crowd trying to kickstart their season. Liverpool in recent seasons have usually started very slow away from home. As soon as Charlie Adam was sent off, that's it, the game was over. You can't exactly judge the team after that because it was never a fair game from then on.

I think people just need to relax. Man City drew, Chelsea and Arsenal both lost this weekend, we've gone through alot worse. We'll bounce back against Brighton and Wolves and then have a very tasty Merseyside derby to put some energy into the team.

Of course it was a fair game, Charles Adam was rightly sent off, and he was lucky it wasn't a straight red. If a Tottenham Hotspur player had done that they'd have been treated in the exact same way.

It was a harsh decision for Adam but I've got no complaints. What I'm saying is, 11 versus 10 (then 9) isn't a fair fight so the team performance shouldn't be judged too much.
