So unlucky Spurs. Oh well, that's football for you. Lots of positives to take from the game though.

Great game from spurs.Unlucky though.
This season you should get 3rd place, and I think that from next season you should be able to push for the title.

Today also showed what life without a ST like Ade is like again. And it's not good
Defoe was lost most of that game.

He scored a goal though, and he isnt the one to blame for his missed chance in the last minutes.Bale should have passed earlier.

Nothing to worry now, this was the only game where you couldn't play Ade (apart from suspensions and injuries) and I'm sure you'll sign a striker in the summer.

Didn't say he was
Was just making the point Defoe can't play as a lone striker and pav is shit.
Ade is the sort of striker that complements our team perfectly when playing up top alone.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
if only defoe didnt hesitate
if only bale played the ball 1 second earlier or 1 mm/s slower
if only assou ekotto didnt hoof the ball with 30 seconds left
if only the ref didnt miss balotellis stamp
if only ledley didnt make a ridicolous challenge after such a good game.
feel so down now

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Can't fault Defoe for the miss, Bale played a poor pass. We got done by a last minute penalty that was taken by someone who should've been sent off. Onwards and upwards, 3rd is ours for the taking with Wigan at home next in the league. But, Watford away in the cup on Friday so lets try and get some silverware.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Redknapp told Sky Sports: "It looked like a penalty, but the boy who scored the penalty shouldn't have been on the pitch. He kicked Scott Parker in the head.
"He does that quite often. It's not right. He's caught him and then he's back-heeled him again in the face and cut his head.
"You can't get away with things like that on the football pitch, the referee should be seeing that.
"He's kicked him in the head, it's there for everybody to see. I'm sure you've got it on the TV. No-one can make excuses that he didn't do it, because anyone can see he did do it."

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
No match thread in my absence?
I am really proud of Watford's performance.....we were simply amazing and I'm so gutted that we didn't go away with a victory, yet alone a draw......
This was not a usual side for us......our best midfielder (Hogg) was injured...and instead we played Sean Murray, an 18 year old who has only played a handful of games for us! This as well as Garner (who again hasn't played much for us).....and along with Sordell and Deeney that's 3 strikers.....quite positive against Spurs.....who had what was pretty much a first team line up....missing a few players but still a star studded team. When I saw the lineup I was fearing the worst.
But....from the off we were utterly dominant. Chasing down Spurs all game long.....giving you little time on the ball and forcing lots of errors. It is a real shame that we could not capitalise on those....especially when Murray hit the post and Deeney missed the rebound.....and Eustace heading onto the post was unlucky too.
In the end though.....what cost us was a very soft goal....one of only a few Spurs chances in the whole game. Loach should have saved the shot......it wasn't that powerful and it wasn't in the corner....gutting to concede and gutting to lose because of that.
You know.......I don't think we have been as dominant as we were today all season . This was truly a new Watford side.....and a very hard working, creative and committed one.
Mariappa had Adebayor in his pocket all game....I think with that performance the interest shown in him is going to sky rocket. Sordell has interest too but....it wasn't a great game for him. Lots of chances........but he kept wasting them due to indecisiveness, bad touches or greediness. He is a young player though and it's hard to do well vs Spurs defence so can't give him too much stick.
So we lost...which for me was really hard to take as against Spurs a performance like that deserved a lot more......but we can take lots of positives from this and hope to carry it on to league games.....so maybe we can climb the table.

DERBY LOAN FOR TOM
Tom Carroll has joined Derby County on loan until the end of the season.
The young midfielder, 19, last season enjoyed a successful loan spell at Leyton Orient where he made 14 appearances including two FA Cup ties against Arsenal.
He made his Spurs debut this season in the home leg of the Europa League play-off against Hearts at White Hart Lane and has since clocked up seven First Team appearances in cup competitions.
He was rewarded for his impressive displays with a call-up up to the England Under-21 squad in November.

It's fine, we'll go back to the Parker and Sandro holding and 3 attacking midfielders in Modric, VDV, Bale like at Norwich, which worked really well.
