Luke's really annoying when it comes to transfers, especially on twitter . My twitter was spammed with shit retweets regarding Chelsea transfer rumours from him so much that I stopped following him

And yeah, I think the US gets better coverage, I sometimes hear certain members complain about how a team's match isn't telivised but then It comes out on ESPN D or Fox Sports Español.
Direct tv the service I have pretty much gets you all the football you'll ever need.
I even get the likes of the Guatemalan and Ecuadorian leauges.
I live in the USA but I don't pay for any of those channels

Nah I doubt that Lux. Might be a TV game, with it being Championship v Premiership and London derby. Like our Carling Cup tie a few years ago.Lux wrote:You guys are going out

I remember that....Priskin scored and then you came back ....Loach had a howler that day.
I kind of doubt it'll be a TV game....with Man Utd vs Liverpool, QPR vs Chelsea, Sunderland vs Middlesbrough, Arsenal vs Villa and Everton vs Fulham.......
So I dunno..it might be still...hopefully as we always appreciate the money.
Also Spurs will probably play a weakened side so we have a chance.

I prefer a London derby with the chance of an upset than Arsenal/Leeds v Villa and especially Everton v Fulham.Lux wrote:easley91 wrote:Nah I doubt that Lux. Might be a TV game, with it being Championship v Premiership and London derby. Like our Carling Cup tie a few years ago.

'Arry is 1 cheeky kunt.
Spurs boss Redknapp revealed last week that Ba had a release clause in his contract, reported to be around £10m, which was seen as good value for a 26-year-old with Premier League experience.
However, the 64-year-old manager has now claimed that Ba’s release fee is in fact significantly lower than £10m, suggesting it could be as low as £5m. When asked about the reported £10m clause, Redknapp said:
‘I think you will find it is a lot less than that.’
Then asked if the fee was £7m, Redknapp added:
‘Even less than that.’

What a cunt he is for saying that. Newcastle must be FUMING.
Though it serves them right for having such a shitty release clause

On a shitty note. Looks like King has tore his hamstring
Fucking shit it's happened to him. Quality defender cut down by injuries.
Reckon we'll go in for a CB now. As we've only got Kaboul and Bassong fit atm.
Edit: Before someone says Dawson, he's not match fit yet and the Achilles can be a shitty thing to fully get over.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Spurs ITK website I use during transfer windows say the release clause is actually £10m. These guys are usually reliable and I doubt Newcastle would have the release clause of £5m or less anyway. Harry's retracting what he said because Newcastle will have then had to accept every offer of £10m and Ba is off.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Dawson will play on Wednesday because it's such a huge game. If we're comfortable with 20 odd minutes left he'll come off. King is another one to suffer a hamstring injury at Tottenham this season, why are the hamstrings so vulnerable? We need a striker as well, even on loan for the City game, as Pav is not good enough to cover for that game while Ade is ineligible.

Actually I remember reading an article about release clauses and it's not as simple as it sounds. If you remember, Phil Jones had one in his contract for £16.5m, but I think United ended up paying more than that. There's ways that the selling club can squeeze more money out of it, but I can't remember exactly how.
Wish I could find that article, it was a good read.

Wasn't the Jones one just to talk to him? It didn't mean Blackburn had to accept.

I think England's buy out clause is a bit more legally binding.
E.G....Billy Sharpe is being sold at £3m because that's his clause. Personally I think that's a fair price, but I would've thought that they'd hold out for more if they could.
Also Adam Hammill went to Wolves for just £500k....because of his buy out clause. Surely Barnsley would've wanted at least £2m-£3m for their star player if they could.

Apparently we're waiting to see if the deal with Chelsea falls through, then offer a lower amount and the wagers we offered last window

If Tottenham went for it and made two - three big signings they could easily finish in the top two.
