I sense 1-1, 2-2.
So for the fantasy league it's: No Liverpool/Arsenal defenders. No Liverpool/Arsenal goalkeepers.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
To add to comments on Flanagan. I think with the position we are in we don't have time to say "He'll learn from this."
He's good for his age and he does have a bright future, but you never know, two points might mean a lot come the end of the season.

Think Kelly should be played to be fair.Cadbury wrote:To add to comments on Flanagan. I think with the position we are in we don't have time to say "He'll learn from this."

We should consider fielding the team Scott posted a few days ago. Against Arsenal the game's won or lost in midfield, whether the departure of Fabregas/Nasri will affect this I do not know. I'd like to see Skrtel and Agger, maybe even Cahill?

We're not dropping Lucas. He's clearly recovering for that shitty Copa America tournament. He's a vital player.

I'll happily admit it's a kneejerk. Lucas needs to be at his best next week. He will be because he's always up for big games.Cadbury wrote:Jord wrote:Would of been better instead of Lucas. Might be included next week?CollieBuddz wrote:We missed Spearing today.

He's one of those players whom we don't appreciate until he's gone, much like Alonso.

Arsenal are going to be weakened when they play us. No Gervinho, Song possibly might get a ban for his stamp? And our fixture is sandwiched between their European qualifiers. We've got a fully fit first team pretty much, apart from Gerrard and Skrtel. Johnson should be back.

He wasn't THAT bad. He made a few decent tackles. His passing wasn't brilliant but he played a lovely little ball to Kuyt later in the game.
I'd go for this against Arsenal;

Reina
Kelly Skrtel Agger Enrique
Lucas Adam
Suarez Aquilani Downing
Carroll
If Kenny can get the players to stop hoofing that would work. If not;

As much as I hate Carroll and Suarez up front, Arsenal do seem a little weak in the air to me. Would still prefer Kuyt and Suarez starting instead though.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
You have to admit, the times when Carroll and Suarez played off each made your mouth water. I really did enjoy the first half, I had upmost confidence that we would outscore them. I knew they would score, I knew it would be from a set piece or cross. But based off the first half I thought we could pull off a win. What happened in the second half was Suarez stopped ticking and obviously got tired.
Anyone agree with my theory? Because I honestly can't think of anything else. I can't imagine Kenny would pat them all on the back at half time and tell them to do nothing in the 2nd half.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
We really should be in a better position Can't believe Suarez took the penalty when we have Adam in the side. Can't believe Carroll's goal was disallowed, wtf .. Suarez and Carroll both scoring in the first game would've done wonders for confidence. Can't believe Downing was an inch away from goal of the season so far.

Suarez is a good penalty taker. That was just weird. I'm not used to us missing penalties, didn't know how to ract.
I'm confident that a decent win against Arsenal will be a springboard. I take comfort in the fact that the team who played today hadn't played a full 90 minutes together before.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
The penalty is nothing. Charlie obviously knew Suarez is the striker, he is the goalscorer and that he won the penalty. Saying Adam should of took the penalty is just pure hindsight. Carrolls disallowed goal was shocking, he did nothing and it was a fantastic goal in my opinion.Scott wrote:We really should be in a better position Can't believe Suarez took the penalty when we have Adam in the side. You could tell how frustrated Carroll was.
