The more I think of it, the more it smells of bullshit. You cant leave Lucas out, especially Spearing ahead of him.

We shouldn't worry about Mata. He won't have nowhere near the effect Fabregas or Nasri have on the team. Not yet anway.. I'm really glad we got Downing over him now. He just fits.

Not serious. Unless we've got Adam or Aquilani in front of them that's one plain midfield. Even if you add Adam in there it's still pretty dire.

Spearing in for Lucas is a good choice, British > Foreign

In the Birmingham, Fulham and Newcastle routs, we had Lucas and Spearing partnering each other. Same with the Man City game too I think.

I think Spearing will only play, if Lucas is being given more of a rest. I think Adam will probably play in midfield tomorrow with one of either Spearing or Lucas.

If we play a midfield 2 of Adam and Spearing I geniunely think we'll get beat. Teams were just bypassing them so easily in pre-season.
