I didn't like him either when he signed but I believe he will be an important player next season man. He's a fluid player and already seems to have good understanding with Nani and Rooney. I believe he can do a fine job, nothing breathtaking but good enough to be highly praised.kyro7 wrote:He's alright, at his best can be quality, not too sure on him though because he's just overall inconsistent, people always say he beats his man etc, he runs at players then turns his back because he can't go past them, don't think he'll be good for us but hopefully he shuts me up.Jord wrote:Kyro, I asked you this yesterday but no reply. I reckon N'Zogbia is a better player for a cheaper price, also reckon Downing will do better for Liverpool, I'm giving Young a hard time because I've got a feeling he'll be meh, I'm going to lay off him and hope he does the business.

One thing he'll bring is his set pieces hopefully, his crossing from Freekicks and Corners are usually pretty good, his crossing on a whole is decent but I hate how he overhits it sometimes.
I'm just mad because we aint getting a CM.

I always thought Cleverly was a right winger that cut inside and sometimes played attacking mid. I never knew he could be used as a central midfielder.

I am so happy with our options at defence. The twins can play on both flanks, Smalling can do a good job at right back aswell, Jones did well on his debut and Evans is looking okay again. And then we've got 2 of the best centre backs in the world
I love that.

Ferdinand and Vidic are past it, Lescott got inbetween them and Vidic didn't close Messi down, sell them both for 5 pounds.

Never really talked but I was fucking raging at Messi's goal. You just don't let the best player in the world with that much space. It was un-fucking-believable how stupid we were in doing that.

We were shook to come out because we know he'll just find a pass to one of the runners, either way we would have got done so I don't care.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
young is better then park, giggs and nani (when he plays on the left)
so by signing him we have improved, simple as. he is like a left sided valencia

watching it again Giggs didnt do his job. thats what you get when you play a wide player in midfield. i still cant believe fergie picked giggs in midfield... i mean honestly? thats the area thats gonna get the most attention and we needed legs in there
i am not saying thats the reason we lost.. just that i felt it was a bad move

really? REALLY?
i would be fuming if we signed downing for £20m! young is far better
N'Zogbia is the only one that could have been a bargain at £9.5m

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
I know at his best Young is quality.. I just hope he isn't inconsistent, but he's not like Valencia, Valencia is a player who uses his right foot on the right hand side and just runs down the wing and crosses, Young cuts back more, comes infield, I don't see the "He's a left sided Valencia" Young is a more technical player and I think that's a pretty shit comparison.ViVaRooney wrote:kyro7 wrote:Not really.ViVaRooney wrote:he is like a left sided valencia

Young is a better footballer than Valencia, but I think Antonio is more effective.. all 3 of Nani, Valencia and Young at their best, Nani is superior to all.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
by left sided valencia i meant he is a wide player willing to track back and he puts in crosses when gotten the chance.
i didnt mean to say they are identical with young being able to use his left foot

Meh, we've got the best wingers in the league overall any way, if one or two aren't performing hopefully the others are, not really going to keep on complaining about Young because we've got a MUCH bigger problem in our side.

We've recouped what we paid for him so he wasn't a bad signing. It didn't work out but no harm done

Yeah people tend to forget about the wages part of the game, it's expenditure is just as big if not bigger than the actual fees we pay for the player.

He wouldn't really have earned that much since he was a reserve. Also, we would have saved money on the add-ons which were most likely in his contract, so I'd say we wouldn't have lost muchResurrectionRooney wrote:RoryOB94 wrote:We've recouped what we paid for him so he wasn't a bad signing. The signing of Obertan was still a disastrous one. It might not have been as bad as Bebe, but we still definitely made a big mistake.
