Probably asked before, but how many of your youngsters are actually your own? Which ones came from your academy?
I think I remember seeing that chip actually.ClarkY wrote:arsenalap11 wrote:Marvin wrote:Has Vela even played in a pre season match?
Was disappointed to not see him v Benfica.
Yea, scored twice in the first 2 pre-season games, then played a bit less.
Scored the beaut of a chip, after Rosicky played in a nice ball.

Bartley although he joined from you at 15/16 so maybe not, Gibbs, Frimpong, Wilshere, Afobe, Lansbury.
Traore, Szczsney, Mannone, Miquel all joined at quite young ages.

If Wenger signs Chamberlain I will scream and lose faith in Wenger.
I'm sick of 17/18 y.o, We need some one over the age of 22.

A lot of reports are saying we will sign Cahill, Chamberlain and Campbell before the end of the transfer market.

If Arsenal weren't his favourite team he probably would have got pissed off with all this delaying and told you to fuck off like what happened with Chelsea.

What else do you want? Realistically anyway, seeing as for now Nasri and Cesc still play for us. If they go, then obviously i'd like a replacement, but currently those 3 are probably the best we can hope for and it's not too bad.

He was, but Jenkinson is below average. Eboue is a full international, played games against a lot of top teams, can be a good player albeit clumsy at times.
Jenkinson has barely played 10 professional games.
Then why's everyone talking about Frimpong like he's jesus when he hasn't even played that and Le Coq has against France's best
Two completely different situations...
Both Frimpong and Coq are youth players, who came up from the academy. Whilst Coq was on loan last season playing in Ligue 1, Frimpong could well have been playing for the senior Arsenal side in the PL if it wasn't for his injury, or could have gone out on loan to a good side.
Jenkinson wasn't good enough to start at Charlton, yet we're expecting him to play 15-20 games for Arsenal next season.
COULD
You don't know he would have, he's never played a premier league game in his life. Rosicky's a world beater in pre season then he turns into a pub team player when it matters.
Jenkinson openly said he was leaving so the manager didn't play him, Eboue's still 2nd choice rb and there's nothing to suggest otherwise except for speculation

Is there anything wrong with signing a good young player, you guys are screaming because he is signing him but if we don't sign him and he turns out to be the second coming of Lionel Messi you'll all get on Wenger back, fickle as fudge some of you are.
Sign him, good young player, not what we need but we should never stop building for the future. As long as we get replacements for Cesc/Nasri if they leave and a centre half so Squillaci doesn't see the light of day again I'll be happy.

Anyway most of us are sick and tired of Wenger building a team for the future. We want to win trophys this season not 2019 !

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
First XI:
Szczsney
Sagna - Cahill - Vermaelen - Gibbs
Song - Wilshere
Gervinho - Fabregas - Nasri
van Persie
Second XI:
Fabianski
Jenkinson - Djourou - Koscielny - Traore
Diaby - Ramsey
Walcott - Rosicky - Arshavin
Chamakh
Subs:
Mannone
Squillaci
Lansbury
Chamberlain
Campbell
Vela
Assuming Almunia, Eboue, Bendtner all leave and Miyachi doesn't get his permit and we sign who's been strongly linked. Got a feeling he'll sell either Cesc or Nasri, and will just put Walcott/Arshavin in the starting XI.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
This is my opinion on our new possibly signings.
Cahill - Good defender but nothing more, He is overrated and way overpriced because he is English.
Campbell - had a few good games but I don't see the point of signing him when we already have a fuck load of youth.
Chamberlain - Good young player but like grenade said I want to win trophy's now, not in 2019.
Cahill will cost around £17mill, for that much money will could sign Mertesacker and Enrique which would solve 2 problems at once. Also I would like Wenger to go all out and try and sign some one like Rossi or Benzema so we don't have to deal with Bendtner and Chamakh when RVP is injured.

Pretty much because of inflation.
He hasn't progressed as expected.

Like I said I think he's good but nothing more, whenever I see him play he does nothing to impress me. Also Bolton asking £17mill for him is a fucking joke, He's worth £10mill max in my opinion.

He still has progressed. If you remember, he's a striker playing out on the wing. There's much more to come.
