Cahill and Enrique and I'd be very pleased. Still think there's a good chance of Enrique happening, I'm not sure about Cahill though. But at the moment, Arsenal seem to have other options, and all the other big clubs aren't looking for centre backs, so this could be a good opportunity to get Cahill at a good price.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Literally bumped into Capello's security guard yesterday, got a handshake from him too (Fabio, not the security)
And a thumbs up from Raul 'cool as fuck' Meireles
The Main Stand was the only one I'd never sat in before so I wanted to give it a go. Obviously got the bonus of looking at Kenny all game and having a peek at who's in the DB (Wilson, Poulson, Raul, Skrtel, Capello, Ayre, Comolli) but the atmosphere isn't quite as good as the Centenary and obviously the Kop (still better than most though)
Aurelio and Downing linked up well in the first half, shame we know he won't be able to keep fit Downing and Henderson played pretty well, as did Aqua and Lucas slotted right back in for the second half Valencia couldn't deal with Carroll for the whole time he was on, won just about everything in the air and got his goal (just about)

Could easily play CM as well to be honest but he's never really had a professional game in that role.

Let me rephrase that. I'd rather have Holden than Adam.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Aside from Adam we have four, maybe five other midfielders who excell at disturbuting the ball. Henderson, Aquilani, Meireles, Gerrard and perhaps Shelvey all fall under the same category as Adam. While we have only Spearing and Lucas who can cope with the defensive side of things. Against Valerenga, Malaysia etc our midfield was overrun too many times. We have a whole bunch of attacking midfielders, yet just two defensive ones and while Spearing has looked good all pre-season and put in some good shifts last season, I'm still finding it difficult to have full confidence in him. If Lucas gets injured then we're fucked. Sort of. Unless Kenny opts to play Agger in the holding midfield role which would make sense.

He broke it against United in around March or April I think.

Yeah, he is. Decent player. But he's not Spanish so he can get to fuck.
I'd love Cahill though. I guess Bolton thought have more interest from otehr clubs. Surely they'll lower his price now? Still, a great signing he'd be. If he was Spanish though...

The only way Bolton will lower there price is if we gave them N'Gog and Wilson on loan. Even then I can still see them wanting something close to £15M.

Downings been a joy to watch so far. If he can put in shifts like he did on Saturday every week then I'd be happy. He might even live up to his £20m price tag. I mean where the fuck was £28m Mata yesterday?

Banega looked quality.
Spearing and Lucas were also good. Both are much more composed and comfortable with the ball. Lucas' pass to Kuyt was the sex.

Probably nobody
I reckon we're looking at Cahill as a way of killing two birds with one stone. He is versatile and would save us from buying a left back. Like most clubs though I think we will get nowhere. We'll probably try and offer them players in exchange and a low bid and they'll be like no we still want x ridiculous fee.

If signing Chaill meant that we'd miss out of a left-back then forget it. You'd think we'd want a natural wing back with a decent cross. Not three fullbacks. No me gusta.

If Aurelio can stay fit we'll only need Cahill as cover for left back. Even then we have Robinson, Flanno and Insua (at a push) as cover there. At least until the January window anyway. The CB positions are looking alot lighter at the moment and should be a higher priority.

Slightly harsh on Mata there Jord. I thought he played well yesterday actually, his movements brilliant. At times, I was just watching him and he gets into to some very dangerous positions, he's composed, neat on the ball, quick and effective. He'd definitely excel in a better team. Having said that, there's no fucking way he's worth €30m, no way.
