I know these are only rumours but this made me laugh
"Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is to step up his interest in Tottenham midfielders Luka Modric and Tom Huddlestone and is willing to offer the likes of Michael Carrick and Anderson in part exchange"

Very much agreed
Just read on Goal, we're looking to sign Gary Cahill and Phil Jones for a combined fee of 25m in Jan

Cahill?
Hmmm, not good if Harry is looking for another CB. Would look like he is losing faith in King.

Especially if he wants to pay 15m for him, but never know could just be more back-up, and I know I'm pointing out the obvious here King is injury prone, so yeah

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Yeah he is but we got:
Dawson
Bassong
Kaboul
Gallas
For our CB partnerships, with Caulker waiting in the wings. Makes you wonder why he is going to spend 15m on another player, if not to go straight into the 1st team ahead of Bassong, Kaboul and Gallas.
Not that I'm complaining about signing him btw, he's a class CB, is still young and is English

But think about it
Dawson - Starter when he gets back
Bassong - Good replacement
Kaboul - I'm still unsure of, don't know where Harry prefers him, CB or RB
Gallas - Rather old and seems to be getting injured a lot
So take Gallas out of the picture leaves us with 2 or 3 when Kings injured

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
I don't think we need another CB tbh. ok we have some injury problems at the moment but when it comes to january... Dawson will be back. he isnt very injury prone and is really consistant for us. then we have King to pair with him. with 3 possible backups
I would like us to buy a ST who can play up there on his own. so if we want to go 451 for away games we can. When Defoe is back we can play 442 if we need to be more attacking.
I still dont like Ekotto to be honest... we need to buy a LB. or if Harry see's Bale as a LB then play him there and give Kranjcar a chance!

TBH I can still see us getting Cahill and it being worth while. And on the ST issue yes we do need one. If Kranjcar plays and Bale drops back than who is our replacement AM/Winger?
Short but simple

We need Gary Cahill. Gallas is a short term solution. We have THE most injury prone defense I have ever seen

Dos Santos
Jamie O'Hara
Danny Rose
Andros Towsend
But i would personally want to keep Bale LM and get a new LB
Or we might get Pienaar on a free

Bentley - Never liked him just don't think he's the right mold for us
Gio - Forgot about him
O'Hara - Still injured
Rose - Out on loan
Townsend - Haven't seen much of him
Pienaar - Quality back-up

Townsend is going to be class. Reckon he would have got some 1st team games this season had he not been loaned out. Was pure class pre season and has done well for Ipswich from what I've seen and read.

Also:
Just the type of spirit and mentality we need in the squad and to be honest. I agree, we've got the team (bar a top quality striker) to mount a challenge.
Tom Huddlestone believes Tottenham are capable of challenging for the Premier League title this season.
Spurs' 2-1 victory over Fulham on Saturday sees them sat on 14 points from eight games, the same return as Manchester United and Arsenal.
They are just five points behind leaders Chelsea and are well-placed to push on from this point.
Harry Redknapp's men will have to juggle their domestic endeavours with UEFA Champions League commitments, but they now have the squad to compete on multiple fronts.
Contenders
With that in mind, Huddlestone sees no reason why they cannot launch a sustained assault on the top flight title.
"If we can be a bit more consistent, because we've dropped a few sloppy points, then why not?" said the England international, who bagged a controversial winner to see off Fulham at Craven Cottage.
"Title contenders? That's a big statement to make, but the way the season is going, everybody keeps taking points off each other.
"If you're up there March, April time, you've got a great chance."

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
We have too many players that play a similar role to Kranjcar that are far better. Van der Vaart, Modric, not to mention he's played and honestly hasn't impressed that much.
