But weren't you down 10 men early on? I mean I can understand just defending and trying to play like that when you have 10 player..Zzonked wrote:Snoopy wrote:Name a game, where they have played anti-football.ViVaRooney wrote:Snoopy wrote:Just because they play possession football and 4-5-1 doesn't mean they play anti football, it's called If you have the ball the other team can't win.ViVaRooney wrote:

dont even try to deny that, every big game they go 4-5-1 with negative attitude and boring possession football waiting for a mistake from the opponents to score.
when you have the players they do... it is anti football.
and also they use dirty tactics like i mentioned above, where they break up play to stop the flow of the game, dont dare let the game have any pace to it!
it may get you a win but thats anti football
0-0 v Arsenal at the Emirates.
We do do it occasionally, but I don't agree that the semi final was anti-football.

2-0 chelsea (eventhough they lost.. they played SOOO anti football)
Fa Cup final (i mean come on! it was against Stoke too)
0-0 Man Utd (at their home)
0-0 tottenham opening day

I wouldn't have even said the away game against Arsenal was a big case of anti-football, but was more just defensive football.
I don't particularly like to watch it, but I can understand that some teams prefer to play this way.

Nah, we had 11 but we just sat behind the back for 90 minutes. When we had 10 men we lost 3-0, we actually attacked more in that game than we did in the other.

I could see us giving the new signings, like Young and Jones who won't always start, a chance to start in this one.

Doubt Jones will start, if he does it would be at right back though.
Young and De Gea will.

I definitely think Young will start the game, but even if he doesn't start, I think Jones will get a chance to play at some point in the game. This is a good place for players to make their first competitive appeareance, if you can class the Shield as a competitive game.

I don't see City just sitting back and going all out defence in this one. It's not the biggest trophy in football or anything, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them taking a few risks.
A lot of it will depend on their setup. Tevez and Aguero probably won't play, meaning City can't call on their best attacking options. With this being the case, they may go for one up top and a 4-5-1. They could, alternatively be more attacking and go for a 4-3-3.

Cheers. I'll do my best to follow it then. A nice taster between the two of the three title contenders (stating the obvious)

I've seen nothing saying Aguero wont play, sorry Jela but I'll believe it when I see it.

Is there actually a possibility of a Tevez-Aguero partnership for City?

Yeah, Tevez is coming back on Monday. If a team comes along, we'll sell him, but it seems there aren't many candidates who can afford him. I think Corinthians in January is a possibility.

no cause mancini cant dare play 2 strikers next to each other
he will probably push one of them wide if they do both start
