10-9 means we played a horrorshow on defense but it also means it would probably be one of the most legendary games of all time and be remembered for years.

I guess it depends. If we're at home in Europe in the knockout stages, then 1-0. Otherwise, 10-9.

10-9 would be remembered for a very long time but is not the best for your starting lineup. Even in the win how good is your keeper going to feel that he let in 9 goals? Your defense would not feel any good. 1-0 with a master class goal and some good saves is much better. The difference of morale here would be like a complete 180 degree turn here.

Definitely 10-9. I have seen lots of high scoring games with Cheltenham before and lots of dull 1-0 type games. Give me the thrilling 10-9 any day.

10-9 would be interesting if every goal was a penalty. Give the max red cards allowed and a game with 8 v 8 would be quite interesting.

1-0 thanks. I love watching other teams play in extremely high scoring games, but if United ever conceded 9 goals I would be absolutely fucking horrified, unless it was a key match like a CL Final in which case I'd probably be dead from a heart attack by half time.

mostly you have to choose between the two, only a few teams provide both.

I guess if your team is in a lower league and not likely to get promoted to the top league anytime soon 10-9 might be better. Since we do not have promotion/ relegation I would enjoy a 10-9 game from my local team the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

Exciting football and winning can coincide in a a 1-0 win, defensive performances can be just as rewarding as attacking displays. Obviously I'm not talking about playing a long ball up to the striker at every opportunity and defend deep for the whole game, but a team like United can win 1-0 while remaining responsible at the back and can produce some great football. Also in the league system, it's possible that the 10-9 win could influence the final league table on goals scored if the goal difference and points tally is tied. This could be the difference between missing out on promotion and avoiding relegation.

If away goals rule is in place, I would rather win 1-0. If there is no away goals rule, I would like to win 10-9. The score would be legendary and an extremely exciting match. I wouldn't want most or all of my team's matches to end 10-9 though. I would prefer 1-0 most of the time.
