Your stats don't mean shit. When did we ever rely on Henry the way Barca do with Messi? Messi possesses the ball at least 70% more than Henry did, Messi is also a play maker so obviously he would have more assists. Once again Cpt. Obvious strikes. Messi and Cristiano hit 40 in La Liga not in the PL, huge difference and completely irrelevant. In his 8 seasons in London he scored 24 or more league goals 5 out of his 8 seasons where as Cristiano scored more than 20 once in a season. No teamed feared Cristiano the way teams feared Henry. You can say they are both superior players, but with the exception of Messi (who I would never compare to Henry in the first place due to their vastly different roles), Cristiano is NOT better than Henry was in his prime. NO striker has ever accounted for the number of assists as Henry has in this generation and possibly any other. Any stat you want to rely on as a basis for saying Cristiano is superior feel free. Its only all to easy to counter.
I think that just proves how much better Messi is, he's playing as a playmaker and he still racks up more goals than Henry does as a striker. When Henry played in the Premier League is wasn't at it's best, in fact it was probably a weaker League then than the Liga BBVA is today. Every team feared Ronaldo once he took his great leap forward in 2006, and if they didn't they regretted it, he scored 40 goals in England when the League was the strongest it's ever been, and he scored 50 goals in Spain, Henry never did either of those things despite playing in both countries.
If everyone feared Henry so much how come he never won the Ballon d'Or or the FIFA World Player of the Year awards?
And lets not forget, Messi is playing for the Greatest club side ever.
