Re: PES 2011 is a ridiculous game
You think I'm justin hatin' on PES for no reason? I just honestly believe it is inferior compared to FIFA. And by inferior I mean there is seriously no contest to which game is better..
I'm no fanboy, I loved PES until it got shit(after pes 6). I had FIFA from 06 and didn't really enjoy it until 09. Show hows much of a 'fan' I am to football games and just really base my opinion on which I think is better.
Ofcourse you have your opinion and I have mine but PES is seriously poorer in almost every category.

To me FIFA feels like an arcade game, and PES feels like a simulator.
Become A Legend is far better than Be A Pro as well. Manager Mode > normal league in PES though.
I haven't played the new bap on fifa 11 but Become a legend was Awesome.

You need to slow the speed down then. It's as realisitc as can get when the speed is turned down to realistic pace.Bergkamp wrote:But PES feels like something I should be playing on a pier. It's an arcade game I loved PES 2 and PES 6 but every other one has been awful in my opinion.

Your opinion,
My opinion is PES is a harder game and therefore, for men with the cojones, you know, the real balls, the testicles amigo..
In my experience,
As i've got better in football games, fifa hasn't increased in difficulty,
E.G, Fifa 09 i played at professional, when offline very rarely did I play offline because fifa is so generic.
PES 2010 I played at top player and won over 650 matches losing just 10,
Fifa 11 played at Legendary, haven't won a great deal, haven't lost yet though..
PES 2011, had to decrease the difficulty because on top player, teams like barcelona will just eat you alive, and thats probably what happened to you which is why you stopped playing

Re: PES 2011 is a ridiculous game
Your assumptions are wrong mate. I have played pretty much every PES after 5. I can play at the top difficulty and get thrashed but that won't change my opinion of the game.
If you are basing which game is better on difficulty then this entire debate has been a waste of my time.

Re: PES 2011 is a ridiculous game
i was comparing the 2 games the other day. PES demo v FIFA full game. i'm loving FIFA, i like how you can pass around the opposition and L1 for player runs is really useful.
but (and im now playing on world Class - was on legendary), its starting to feel really samey! like my build up play is the same every attack! i try to mix it up but i always find myself doing a carbon copy of my last attack.
i find i never have enough space to pull off any moves with the trick stick, online i notice my opposition never use tricks either! and they all invarioubly play as 4.5 - 5 star teams. i play as Wolves (3.5*).
last night i played an exhibition game with my VP in the Wolves team Vs. Aldershott. i still couldnt find the space i needed to pull off any tricks, so i played them again on Amateur but still couldnt find space to use the trick stick (whats the point in using it if there are no opposing players within 10 yards?)
i would have thought on amateur Vs. a half star team my VP (81 OVR) capable of 5 star tricks could beat a defender at close quarters with a trick. i was wrong.
now PES seems more varied. most attacks were different and when you strike from distance you get a real sense of power in the shot which you just dont get with FIFA. the fluidity of movement from the players didnt seem as good as on FIFA but you do seem to have an extra second on the ball without the game feeling easy!
i have not yet tried skill moves on PES but there have been some nice animations of players skipping past and bending their bodies to avoid a tackle and in the default camera PES looks sharp, the lighting is better and when played one after the other FIFA looks quite cartoony!
in summary im considering jumping ship.

Im arguing against people saying PES is crap and like the OP says a terrible game.. simply because they havent played it to a good enough extent to get a decent opinion..
I mean if you're going to argue at least make it a good one, no offense intended

*On topic , played it yesterday when I had a break and it was awful. Drew 1-1 with a mate who was city. Anderson scored when I accidentally press B to cross instead of shoot and he chipped it over the keeper and in.SWP then skinned about 5 of my players and Adebayor scored. 70% was just losing possession in the middle. I usually like it as a opposite of Fifa with the editing and stuff but im seriously considering not getting it this year.

Yeah im not doing it right! which explains why every online game i have is completely bereft of ANY skill. no one i have played against uses the trick stick to beat my defenders, despite only using the best teams on the game! they use the skill moves when there is nobody near their players! whats the point in that? the tricks should be used to beat players, not fannying about in your own half in acres of space! it accomplishes nothing.
i have owned every FIFA since 2003, im quite adept at playing the game. so in order to have a challenge i have to play on world class at the very least, playing as Wolves. i would need to play on legendary if like most other people i only played as the very best teams - which i dont!
it just becomes tiresome, when the only way to unlock a defence is with speed. there is still no patient build up play because as soon as you get the ball in midfield the opposition are over you like a swarm of bees! yeah, you can pass around them but only because the opposition soon find themselves out of position because of the ridiculous high pressure game they play. its the football equivalent of blitzing in the NFL! whats next a wildcat offence?
at first i loved FIFA 11, at first glance it seems a beautifully polished game with excellent animations. connecting on the end of a cross with your head is quite satisfying, but those crosses have only come about after a speed merchant on the wing has timed his run in order to have a step on the full back. very few chances are created outside of the box on the higher difficulty settings, again this is down to high pressure swarm adopted by the AI and online opponent alike!
im not saying PES is better, i havn't played the full game yet, and from what i've played on the demo it's nowhere near as responsive but then perhaps you shouldn't be able to turn on a sixpence with every single player! what it does offer is something that resembles real football more that FIFA does. i want the space to be able to shoot from 25 yards (and miss), i love the sense of power you get from those long range shots. in FIFA there are no rockets! none. sure the occasional shot will fly into the top left hand corner (although most fly straight down the middle of the goal (semi assisted is my level - if i go full manual, my strikeforce turns into Geoff Thomas & Jason Lee), but not with any venom. the view on PES is superb too.
and to anyone who points at the lack of licences. there are option files and the game is fully editable. if FIFA was editable we could correct any fuck ups by EA (like Wolves socks) you can fix it so the GK's never wear the same colour shirts as either team! anyway, in career mode how realistic is it to be wearing the same kits for 15 years? in PES you can create your own fantasy kits of the future! you can even attempt recreating missing stadia to maximise the realism! who needs licences when you can edit EVERYTHING?
i've won the league cup so far in my career mode. the licence afforded me a team celebration with the trophy - i can live without that! EA have the licences but hardly do anything with them. im really looking forward to getting Wycombe Wanderers promoted to the Prem so i can see them play in a 6 year old kit complete with football League shirt printing and coca cola badges om the sleeves - i can do without these realism prohibiting licences!!!!

Proved my point,
Shit graphics, only a couple of people say that PES has worse graphics than fifa, that is because................................... wait for it....................................................................... PES has better graphics than fifa, its a very well known fact pal.
Shit gameplay, you're own opinion of a game you havent played but fair does to you amigo, true fifa fan right thurr
Bad animations? find me a couple just for an example
But yeah, serious point, these arent good enough excuses
