PES 2011 is a ridiculous game

Played a game in Top Player mode, and here's a recount of the 10 minutes I have wasted:

• Graphics are terrible. The menu graphics of 2010 has been replaced by some 'abstract art'. It looks like a horrible mess.
  
• The 360-degree football that PES has been touting is non-existent in this year's game. The fluidity of the play and movement which was present in the past few editions is now gone, players dribble like blocks of wood in eight directions.
  
• Graphics and gameplay are so choppy it even makes FIFA 09 looks good.
  
• Tactics which make Roy Hodgson look like a god. Alex Song was called for offside once, and the replay showed that five players were in an offside position. This was using default tactics.
  
• Too easy. I managed to dribble down the right wing along the pitch with Vermaelen. Try that in FIFA and even C. Ronaldo will get raped.
  
• Graphics and gameplay are so choppy it even makes FIFA 09 looks good.
  
• Shots are too bloody weak. While Arshavin can make a ground pass fifty metres ahead to Walcott, the cow's ass couldn't feel his shot.
  
• No 360-degree football with a keyboard.
  
• Graphics are terrible.
  
• Game is too easy.
  

This year is FIFA's year!

Sounds like someone who has either played the game on Beginner or hasn't played the game full stop or played half a match through fifa tinted eyes...

It's been publicly stated many a time that PES' graphics are better than fifa's..

Song got caught offside.. well what do you expect them to do give out 5 freekicks for every player that was offside? Do you even know the offside rule son?

It's too easy? play the game on 'Top Player' and then come back with it's too easy... you can't dribble through a team.. and if you can't please show us a video..

Shots are too weak.. well obviously havent got used to the new system have you? try timing your shots rather than thinking youre playing fifa..

Sounds like someone who hasn't learned to read. I did say up there that I played in top player mode.

My computer's processor is Intel Core i7, and has 8GB of RAM. Windows Experience Index of 7.3 for gaming graphics, probably higher than yours.

I don't need to get a fucking console. FIFA 11 has great all-round movement and dribbling even on a PC with a keyboard.

Song was caught offside, but five other players were also in an offside position. This is a grievance with the positioning of the players and absolutely nothing to do with the offside rule.

I suggest you pass reading school first before you publicly vent your PMS with a completely incoherent response to somebody else's post. Better still, try disproving the argument next time.

No way am I buying FIFA 2010 with updated teams. That's basically all FIFA 2011 is. At least PES is finally different this time around.

Yeah I agree, it sounds really gay and I can't explain it properly, but PES is a more emotional game, it feels good (like you said) when you score or put together a good move. On FIFA it's all the same.

PES seems to have mastered Messi's dribbling this year as well, which is brilliant.

PES is for the football purist.

Graphics aren't all that important anyway, as long as the picture looks sharp enough. Both games look good.

It's like comparing the old WWF No Mercy game to the Smackdown series. It just felt better to play No Mercy, it didn't matter about the graphics back then.

FIFA is too linear for my liking. It all feels too computer controlled. Like you're not in complete control yourself. It's too easy to just pull off one twos. Even on manual controls, it doesn't match PES.

But PES feels like something I should be playing on a pier. It's an arcade game I loved PES 2 and PES 6 but every other one has been awful in my opinion.

To me FIFA feels like an arcade game, and PES feels like a simulator.

Become A Legend is far better than Be A Pro as well. Manager Mode > normal league in PES though.

I think licensing is a huge issue for most. They have the CL and EL, fair does, that's gotta be their main selling point atm. PES 10 certainly offered nothing else.

But, would you rather play Arsenal v Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, or London Reds v London Blues at Circle Stadium, or something else ridiculous? At least when FIFA doesn't have a team license, it uses the same name etc...

LM, Mate, there is NO 360 dribbling what so ever.. Hell I don't think there is even 90 degree. The players move like fucking planks of wood nailed to the floor. The menu is gash and I honestly don't want to do all this boring tactic crap if playing online.

Graphics are no longer better either.

Aye, the thing that shocked me most is the menus on the PES Demo. Holy shit

I did like their game camera used though, you see a lot more of the pitch. Would certainly help with passes. But even then, going on both demos, PES isn't beating FIFA at much.

I can understand that to a point, but since PES 2008 you can download option packs which remove the 'licencing issue'.. IMO thats a weak arguement because football is football... and it isn't Konami's fault that EA bought most of the licences..

There is 360 degree dribbling, it just depends which one of the degrees you want to move in, not a single footballer in the history of the world has moved from 276 degrees to 277 degrees which im assuming is what you want (it wont and doesn't happen, not even in fifa)

The players move slower, because thats what happens in real life.. it's a simulator, fifa is a game

What I think you should do, is play PES for a good 10 games on regular/professional because the way you are describing the game I don't think you're ready for top player just yet.
