I wonder how much the men's big victory will give momentum for the Mexican women? Since it has been said that Mexico has only had a women's team since like 1998 this is damn impressive in my eyes.

So many players born in other countries for these two teams. 6 Mexican girls were born in USA, and a couple of the English girls were born outside of the country (and wouldn't qualify for the men's team if they were eligible -- at least according to this forum, where its tougher to be eligible to represent England than it is to become the king).
What a hit by Ocampo as well.

Yeah the English keeper was born and raised in the USA but because her father was English she kept sending letter to the English FA to get into the team.
And agreed

1-1 full-time, Japan go top of Group B. Was a good match that, two great goals, some exciting play. Onto USA tomorrow.

Draw was best for both teams. Can still move on over Korea and New Zealand.

WTF was going on with that very last corner? No chance England would have had enough time to put something to score if they somehow got the ball off Mexico. Why not send it into the box and give you a legit chance to win? The very worst thing that could happened is England getting a freekick in the box and they have maybe one kick of the ball to score some crazy goal from 90+ meters.

2007 ended in a 2-2 draw in the opening match. USA went ahead 1-0 before Korea scored twice while Abby Wambach was off the field receiving medical attention. USA got a late equalizer (if I remember correctly).

Korea has been the better side this half. We are lucky to not be down a goal at the moment

This Women’s Soccer Player Was Just Dropped
[quote]Equatorial Guinea players Salimata and Bilguisa Simpore were kicked off their women’s national soccer team today after Ghanaian players accused them of being men.
“You only need to have physical contact with them to know this, and we can tell from what happened most times during the match,” said Ghana’s Diana Ankomah, according to an ESPN report.
The report adds that “the allegations have never been proven and CAF have refused to comment on the matter.”
It also mentions that one of the siblings was accused of previously playing for both Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast.
Although the Simpores alleged man parts have never been verified, kicking them off the team on the eve of the World Cup doesn’t exactly scream innocence.
This is the second gender controversy involving African female athletes. In 2010 South Africa’s Caster Semenya was forced to take a gender test after winning the 800 meter race at the 2009 World Champions.
Here's two more pictures of Salimata.

So now I know how Equatorial Guinea qualified for the World Cup. Their story seemed too good to be true.
