Well basically I think you're a liar.
No, I am just morally better than you.
What is your opinion on Nani's constant dives and methods of cheating then?
Show me a 'dive' that he has made and I will give you an opinion on it. Often he exaggerates when he's fouled, but that's not cheating, it's helping the referee to make the correct decision. I don't like any player diving.

Thing is, are you hardwired to think "stop it with your hands"? I've never played in a match with as much pressure as the world cup, but my reactions to goalline clearances tend to be "head or feet". I have no idea if I would have used my hands as I have no idea if my brain would have been quick enough to think "if I pull my hands out I would get the ball" and then react. In a situation like that all you have is your reactions. If I had the time to think about it I probably would have done anything to save the ball, but I think my reactions (feet or head) would kick in much quicker than that thought.

All in one. He dives, handles the ball, and unsportingly kicks the ball into the net.

Kaboul pulled him back and tripped him. He shouldn't have handled the ball, although it wasn't particularly unsporting, he should have had a penalty. The referee gave the advantage, for the handball, and Gomes made a mistake which Nani took advantage of.

Good point. You'd think as a professional footballer he'd react with his head or feet rather than his hands.

Dive is wrong, obviously, but it's Gomes fault for not playing according to the whistle. If you're going to be an idiot you deserve to get punished.

If England were one nil up or whatever country you support and it was injury time.
Punch it off the line and win the WC or let it go in and lose the world cup.
Everyone would punch it off the line.
So don't come up with this fair play pish. You know you would.

I don't understand why so many people so this. I genuinely wouldn't. Suarez was in a good position to attempt to clear it with his head, and that is what I would have done.Fine Shagger wrote:Obviously. Anyone who says no is a liar. Or a retard.

Maybe he had some sort of muscle spasm or seizure and thought "fuck it"
Seriously though, he's not an idiot. He's clearly very intelligent and technical with a football. I'm sure if he wanted to save it with his head he would of.

Re: Yes or No.
The only reason the Suarez incident is so infamous is because Ghana missed the resulting penalty, and Uruguay won. If you were to punch it off the line like Suarez did, 9 times out of ten you'd be sent off and lose a goal. It's not as simple as 'let it in and lose or punch it away and win'.Jelavic18|RFC wrote:If England were one nil up or whatever country you support and it was injury time.

So your suggesting it was his intention to get sent off a concede a penalty rather than clearing it with his head with no consequence? That would be a strange decision to make.Jord wrote:Maybe he had some sort of muscle spasm or seizure and thought "fuck it"

Re: Yes or No.
No idea. Its instinctive and you probably don't know if you would do it until you get to that point.
If I could choose then of course I would stop it, I just don't know if I would naturally go for the ball with my foot or head if I was in that position.

He didn't have to resort to using his hands, if you watch it again you will see that he could've easily gotten his head to the ball. Which begs the question, why did he react with his hands rather than his head?

Reaction. The ball came quick, it was the last min of the World Cup, it was just pure adrenaline imo.
