Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
A final dollop of gossip from The Mirror:
'Liverpool are ready to buy Preston's Northern Ireland international midfield starlet Adam Barton as they build a squad for the future.
'The Anfield club have been plotting raids on several youngsters in a bid to return to their old philosophy of grooming top young talent.
'North End have been asking for £5million for the 19-year-old, but Liverpool hope to lower the price
I have no idea who this guy is, Nor do both my brothers who watch championship football and support teams

Same happened vs Wolves, he's not exempt from criticising just because of how good he is. If he doesn't put the effort in, which happens regularly now, he should be called up on it.
Same happened against Wolves have you know football brain he had been out for what 6 weeks or something its his first game back from injury and just cause he did not run the game like he did against Bolton he also Cramped up against Wolves in the 2nd half cause he was just back and had not played for a while, it takes fukin time to get back to match fitness does it not, and what do you mean he does not put the effort in and it happens lots of times now he cant be expected to do it all himself he plays in midfield now deeper than before and he cant play there and do things further up the park all the time and just cause he does not make things happen like Scoring a goal or making a Goal does not mean he is not runing about tackling and put in the effort.
Yes, that's right. I champion Lucas yet I only judge a midfielders performance on goals? That makes sense.
Fuck off, I've watched Gerrard with my own eyes. This season he's been playing very well on the whole, no complaints with his performance or his attitude, both have been spot on.
Last season? Pathetic. I can forgive players for playing poorly if they are geniunely trying, Gerrard was not trying. He was strolling around the pitch, not tracking back, not chasing after players after he played yet another stray pass. Yet he was still gurning at other players in our team.
Know i wont fuck off and well last season as i said i dont think he Gerrard was 100% fit in a lot of games last season and he just came back against Wolves and well maybe it was time for him to be gurning at other players and you are going on about another stray pass played is he not allowed to have a dip in form i mean how many times has he pulled us out of the shit when we needed him through out his time at Liverpool.
And how many times has he had a real dip in Form and well maybe last season not being 100% fit and well the way the team was playing all the other crap going on behind the scene's how do you know that it was all this that was getting to him, he is only Human and the fact that he did care about Liverpool fc was getting to him on and off the park.

Saw Rushy play and met him aswell he was one of my hero's him and King Kenny, and i hate how outside Liverpool fc know one talks much about Rushy's 47 goals in 1983,84 in the first English Treble season and he scored a Penalty in the Rome Final and 2 Goals for wales so you could have said 50 Goals that season as LIVERPOOL FC won the first ENGLISH TREBLE that does not get mentioned enough in Football today, LIVERPOOL FC The Original TREBLE WINNERS using only 16 players all season.

Elia would be an awesome buy. Seriously.. People say he's Babel mark 2 but he plays nothing like him. I thought he looked really good in the world cup.

Anyway, how do you pronounce 'Elia'?
Is it "ELL-EE-AH"
or "ELL-I-AH"
Or what?

ESPN now say that Hamburgs daily newspaper have reported that Elia has agreed terms with Liverpool.
I doubt it though.

I can kind of understand why people call him Babel mark II instantly, but if there is one thing I have been impressed with when watching him that I can't say with Babel, is that he knows how to use his speed effectively

Haven't been that impressed by the lad. Seems to run hot and cold and doesn't like being dropped to the bench, regardless of him playing shite. Can understand why he's compared to Babel a lot.

Every time I watch him he's impressed, runs past players with ease, and he's got a fairly good strike on him as well.

Thing is.. Elia and Babel are good mates. I remember watching a few videos of them during the world cup, they play fifa with each other and shit in the hotel. Maybe Elia would want to come because of him and possibly Kuyt.

I've watched him for Hamburg quite a bit last season but not much this term, typical winger, direct and very pacey. Aint very notorious for his goal scoring record, though. He's about 23/24 so is still young. All in all for about 15 million were getting a very good winger, a natural winger who does what it say son the tin, and hes a beast on Fifa.
