Re: Leonardo new Inter manager
Shut the fuck up, wasn't it Milan that didn't want him and now he's a traitor? if he was at Milan and Inter offered him the job then it would be different. I guess Pirlo is a traitor also as well right?masutora wrote:Typical money grabbing traitorous Brazilian.

Re: Leonardo new Inter manager
Inter sold Pirlo because they thought he was shit and useless. Poor example, besides Pirlo was a youth. Surely a club legend would not only understand the rivalry but also have emotions attached to it from all the years spent at the club actually playing against Inter?
I guess I should have thrown a little hissy fit, swore and possibly name-called since that's typical of children on this forum.

Isn't that what you did? you were calling him names (Typical money grabbing traitorous brazilian) so I don't know what you are talking about.masutora wrote:Inter sold Pirlo because they thought he was shit and useless. He's not a traitor, Milan let him go because they thought he's not good enough and now he's at Inter not because of the money, but because he wants to prove he's a world class manager. If he was still a player and did this then it's different. Plus it's not like he was managing Milan and Inter offered him a contract.

Re: Leonardo new Inter manager
Nah, I spoke the truth. There are so many Brazilians in general that don't understand clubs and the history and rivalries behind them. I can understand they were born in poor conditions but if they truly hold a club to their heart they wouldn't play/manage for their fiercest rivals.
You can argue all they want to do is play football but many of these same footballers choose to stay and sit on the bench with a higher wage than move to another club to actually play.
Like I said, it's typical. Usually club legends are above that. I can understand your point, though. My understanding was also that Leonardo stepped down/agreed with the club (Milan) to step down because he wanted a break from football.

Name at least five players (brazilians) that choose to get money than play?masutora wrote:Nah, I spoke the truth. You are just generalizing way too much, Italians move from rivals to rivals every time as well but I seriously rarely see Brazilians move from a rival team to another. I really want you to name some players that don't hold their clubs to heart.

Re: Leonardo new Inter manager
Julio Baptista
Doni
Cicinho
Off the top of my head and those are only from Roma.
edit:
A case can even be made for Adriano. Ronaldinho (won't go back to Gremio unless without contract rescission) and Mancini. Never mind, it's too easy.

Re: Leonardo new Inter manager
So because players aren't playing football means they are just sitting there for money? that's a joke man or else it would mean all the fringe players in the world just sit for money then?masutora wrote:Julio Baptista

Ronaldinho is playing football week in week out what you talking about?
Cicinho went on loan in Brazil because he wasn't getting time and has played 6 of 18 league matches for Roma even though he's 2nd/3rd choice. So that one is very invalid.
Mancini...that's 1 - he's a stupid person
Adriano has been injured most of the time this season and has started to play recently but his case is also very invalid because he tries to move clubs when they are not playing him.

Re: Leonardo new Inter manager
Ah, you can defend them all you want, I'm not going to bother.
Dinho hasn't been in Milan's plans and refused a move to Gremio unless they rescind his contract (which means they buy out his contract).
Adriano can't get fit. Seriously, it's not that hard to lose weight. Especially if you're getting paid to do it and being a professional footballer.
Doni, Cicinho and Baptista have been asked to move to other clubs as Roma has no use for them but they refuse because so and so club won't pay as much. Sure blame is on Roma for giving that large of a contract in the first place but if they really wanted to "play football" they easily could.
These fringe players can easily be starters in other leagues or even other teams in the same league and refuse because of the wages. Again, I get it's their choice and right to stick to the contract they signed but if they want to play they have been given many opportunities to move.
Also, merry Christmas to you.

Re: Leonardo new Inter manager
But it's not like Ronaldinho is going to sit on the bench he's a first team player and deserves his wages (whatever he's being paid). But you make it sound like it's only Brazil players that just sit on the bench instead of moving on...but whatever.masutora wrote:Ah, you can defend them all you want, I'm not going to bother.

Re: Leonardo new Inter manager
I didn't mean only Brazilians just that I know a bunch. And for the Polish kid, there are plenty of Brazilians in other lesser known leagues but I'm referring to the ones in top flight leagues and have had the "taste" of high wages and then decide to take the wage than time on the pitch.
Anyway, I realize that my initial post was somewhat anti-Brazilian so I am aware of that. I like most of them to be honest.
My main point is that when Leonardo was approached for the manager position at AS Roma when Ranieri was on the hot seat around a month ago he replied that he had no interest in coaching a rival of Milan, a club he holds so close to his heart. He went on to say that he would rather take a break from football than manage a rival of his most favourite club. The only thing that makes sense is money. Roma has none so clearly it wasn't enough for him or Inter had enough money to put his club/heart feelings aside.
