Madrid just beat Vallecano 13-0 in my save, Ronaldo scored 6. rofl

He'd only scored 8 league goals all season before that.

EDIT: I was 3-0 up after 20 minutes vs 18th placed Girona, and ended up drawing 5-5. facepalm

it's so hard to make money investing in centerbacks. they can be world class yet no one still wants to spend big money on them

i signed david luiz from chelsea for €10m. he finished the season with the highest avg rating in the EPL and never lost a game when he played. market value €16m. yet when i tried to sell him, the highest bid i could get was €8m

grant hanley, consistently playing well for 2 seasons, finished the most recent season with a 7.5ish avg rating, good for top 10 avg rating in the EPL. only 22 years old. low wage demands. captained his team to the 2014 world cup quarter finals. highest rated center back in the world cup. market value €14m. no one wanted him even when i offered him out for €0m

    lame

made some pretty drastic transfers ahead of the 2014/15 season

key transfers in: Butland (free, Birmingham), Chalobah (€5m, Chelsea), P.Jones (€25m, Man Utd), Pogba (free, Juve), McEachran (€7.75m, Chelsea), Lampard (free, Chelsea), Powell (€14.5m, Man Utd), Honda (free, CSKA Moscow), Sterling (€17.5m, Liverpool), Chamberlain (€28.5m, Arsenal), E.Torres (free, Guadalajara), Fierro (free, Guadalajara)

    key transfers out:

Hanley's offer came just in time on deadline day. i quickly spent it on Nick Powell. completed the transfer on deadline day with 15min left to go

    made: €158m, spent: €112m, profit: +€46m

my Blackburn all-English team is slowly coming along, and i'm making a profit out of it too

vs "big" teams: Robinson || Jones Dann Givet Olsson || Mudingayi || Cleverley Lampard Honda Pedersen || Holt (4-1-4-1 with fullbacks, rigid counter wide)

Danny wrote:And do you really play Cleverley at full back? What a Face

    he puts in good crosses.....

more importantly, it saves me a substitution when i switch from a defensive formation to an offensive formation. against big teams, i would play 4-1-4-1 with Phil Jones at RB and Cleverley on RW. if i'm a goal or two down, i would push Phil Jones to CB, take out one of my CB's, then i would have to waste a sub by subbing on a RB in order to go 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-4. but after training Cleverley to play there, instead of having to sub on a RB, i can just sub in a supersub striker instead and push Cleverley to RB

Lost the CL Final on penalties to Barcelona. Went down to 10 men in the second half (van Persie sent off). I was 2-1 up and Messi scored in the 90th. Needed an equaliser from Kagawa in the 117th minute to force pens and I lost 5-4. Neutral

Their equaliser annoyed me. He ran on to a fucking long ball from Busquets, shite goal to concede.

for me, playing 4-5-1 counter/rigid/drop deep/expressive works well as a defensive tactic. it covers all the bases

I went on Holiday until December 31st and took over West Brom who were bottom of the EPL. They were four points adrift of safety.

Things started off badly and I lost 3 of my first 4 games in charge in the EPL The Football Manager Chat Thread! - Page 31 1371890812

but then things started to click, and we are currently unbeaten in our last 8 EPL games. With victory in our last three matches Very Happy

    I made alot of signings

The Football Manager Chat Thread! - Page 31 E2f36a66795ec92c7e1d5c4b98d423a0

I also have Leon Goretzka coming in from Bochum at the end of the season for £12M Very Happy

Anthony Stokes coming in on a free and some regen from Boro who looks amazing

EDIT: I'm 13th now, 9 points clear of relegation with 6 games left. So I should be safe

Currently in a save with Rangers ironically.

I strolled D3 and D2, also won Challenge Cup while in D2. Lost in two consecutive Scottish Cup Semi-Finals to Celtic. First one I lost 2-1 and second one on pens.

Currently in summer before D1. Made some good signings.
