Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
This save is not at all going very well, left QPR because I'm quite sick of being 3-0 up and watching Colombi a defender or some other idiot mess up to make it 4-3. Need a new team.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
I've tried everything to get the team balanced. I even brought in the most expensive and highest rated goalkeeper I could buy for less than 5M to get some quality at the back, it failed miserably.

Everton it is. No transfer budget what so ever, but at least I have a decent defence.

i played as everton in FM10. most boring FM save ever
every game was 1-0 or 0-0. and everybody who i purchased flopped at everton, even the likes of falcao/pastore. tim cahill was my top scorer for 3 seasons straight

Everton and I just work together. They may concede leads once in a while, but most of the time they are able to score that last goal as well.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
25 year old David Luiz, €7.3m from Chelsea to Blackburn?
could be my strongest aquisition yet since managing Blackburn. chelsea have him transfer listed and "no longer needed". we'll see how much he asks for wages or if he's even willing to come

He's a good player but quite frankly he's better in midfield

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
I don't mean to be unreasonable, but 4 long shots on target, 3 goals? My goalkeeper didn't even concede that many goals against Chelsea...

Will Hughes wins the European golden boy award, Rooney second behind Messi for the Balon d'or, Kagawa wins Asian player of the year for the 3rd consecutive year.

I don't do anything too special. 4-2-3-1, fluid, control most games.

the same thing happens to me every game in blackburn, but for me, it's mostly conceding set pieces
i would dominate games 14 shots to 1 and the opposition would score from a set piece
the people over at the SI forums recommend i change my match preparation to "defending set pieces". i did so, and ever since i did, i conceded 11 goals, still 8 of them coming from set pieces
match preparation is useless and broken

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
It is because it's incorrectly marked
Defensive positioning is in reality "attacking movement" and vice versa. Attacking set pieces is basically team work, and team work is basically defend set pieces. I realized this while playing with PSG and noticing how having my team on defensive positioning conceded many more goals, while attacking positioning almost stopped it dead.
