He times his tackles well and is strong and isn't actually that slow. Needs to work on his passing/control a bit but he's decent, but we'll see when he comes up against Toure, Silva, Nasri, Tevez and Aguero.

What a difference in the back with Steve Bould as assistant manager, really good move by Arsenal

Giroud only scored 1 of his 21 goals in the league last season with his head, he might be tall but he isn't someone to head all the goals in, he uses his size when holding up and links up play very well, his movement is sublime.

His missed chance, look at how he moves away from Agger, into his blind spot, as soon as he's in his blind side he darts across Agger, Agger can't react because he saw him too late, Giroud had a chance on goal.

Too bad he didn't rap his foot around it, all set to score against Southampton now.

We don't usually see him except for the hospital bed.

He used to be this good for France, never quite for us but slowed glimpses of it. We'll find out if he can keep it up, but imo despite what stats said last week, he's been good all of this season so far and in pre-season.
