We better get something tomorrow or we will still be bottom of the League going into the Arsenal game.

That was a serious post by the way That is how I genuinely see our season. We're far behind the top four teams. It's hard to accept it, but we have fallen

We are NOT getting top 4. No if's or buts Sahin is a good loan signing(Oh how we have fallen) but Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Man Utd are full of this quality and have players like this all through their squad.
We're aiming for 5th place and that will be at a push. 8th-6th is where we will finish and I believe if Borini and Suarez don't step up then we might even drop lower than last season. We don't have Bellamy and Kuyt to save our arses anymore.
What is this meaning?

Rooney should be out for our game now, I think. Not that it matters as much anymore as they've got Van Persie

He could be back for that..but even then if he's not I think it'd work to our advantage, he's usually horse shit at Anfield so I'd feel more comfortable with Kagawa off RvP.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I'm still holding out for the official announcement on Sahin. The pictures with the shirt and all that, he seems a very indecisive young lad. If we get him, great he's of a good quality and will add depth and technical qualities in the middle of the park.
In regards to what Jord said, I agree 6th-8th is a realistic position for us, we should be aiming for 4-6th but realistically, we can't be surprised or dismayed at 7th or 8th. It's a work in progress and that work is only just beginning. Don't get me wrong, I see the signs that some delusional fans are seeing, there is reason to be optimistic, but I've seen it all before.

I envy Chelsea and their fantastic team. Here we are stuck with average players and people think we have a chance at getting top four. It may seem like I'm nagging but it's all damage limitation for when the season ends.

It's quite simple really
Liverpool came in, Mourinho/Alonso advised and he considered the offer, Arsenal came in and he wanted to come to Arsenal but we pulled out and Liverpool were willing to pay so it was a easy decision for him.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I don't understand why people thought he wanted to come here The boy is a magnificent player and has won 2 titles in two seasons and playing at the two best clubs in Germany and Spain, accompanied by Champions League football. Even the thought that he would ditch Arsenal for us is just- dare I say it, delusional.
If Wenger wasn't scabby then right now Nuri Sahin would be an Arsenal player.

Agreed even further, can't even see why he'd want to come to Arsenal either

Not really scabby. He's said he's willing to spend big but only on a top class midfielder, one that can defend well. He obviously felt that Sahin wasn't defensive enough, and there was no point signing him if there was no possibility for a future at the club. Maybe he has someone else in mind instead

Nobody else in the PL wanted him. Tbh, Chelsea and United could both use him, City could too but not as much.

Maybe, but if he becomes a Liverpool player then it's some quality business. He's out of our league right now.

He's out of your league, yet a lot of the posts I see including on other forums, don't even have him as a starting player

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I guess that's because he's central midfield and Gerrard and Lucas are worshipped, plus, Allen is a new boy so he's the best player in the world right now. He starts for me.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Blame that on Gerrard, who hasn't deserved a starting place in two years. Every now and then we get the Gerrard of old back(i.e Everton last season). It's not worth it though.. We should play him on the wing where he'll put in a decent ball 9/10 times and now slow down the play.arsenalap11 wrote:He's out of your league, yet a lot of the posts I see including on other forums, don't even have him as a starting player

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I don't even see him playing, Lucas will play because he's supposed to be the focal point of the team, Allen will play because we spent 15 million on him, and Gerrard will play because he's Gerrard. Where does Sahin fit in?

So there's three people, including me, who would drop Gerrard for Sahin.... Does Rodgers have the balls?

I think he'll drop Allen most of the time for Sahin. Or put Gerrard on the right wing.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Gerrard should only really play in the big games, he just can't seem to motivate himself or something for the little games cos he never seems to do that well against the 'smaller' teams, but he performs against the big teams

I wonder who will start centre back tomorrow. I hope it's Coates but got a feeling it'll be Carragher. Carragher seems to perform in big games though so hopefully we'll be okay.

I was thinking when we played you last season at the Bridge but Carragher didn't play Well he doesn't do as bad in big games as he does in the smaller ones, I'd still rather Coates started though.Ted wrote:samiz wrote:I wonder who will start centre back tomorrow.
