Van Persie for one year is worth more than £20 million normally, his goals and assists and general presence can get us £40 million in terms of income, he did last year.

But since he played 60 games last year and didn't have a proper break, went and publicly humiliated the club and turned into an idol of hate for the fans, I think it would be better off we sell him, it would galvanise the squad to propel themselves above United.

He doesn't 'doesn't want to be there'. Selling our best player and captain isn't going to improve morale or confidence either. I hate to say it but only the management (and Arsene) knows what is good for the players at this moment.

And we won't reinvest the 20 million anyway. Our finances aren't bad, and looks like our spending this season is done.

Hope Song wouldn't leave and Barca can fuck off. His departure would be a big loss, unless we can secure Sahin and bring in someone like Capoue.

Why would Barcelona want to pay 20m for a bench player in midfield when they require a CB. Keita left over contract issues with tax, they could have kept him for another 4 years which wouldn't even cover Song's transfer fee. Even so Mascherano is a fine backup

It's not happening

Barca probably won't meet Arsenal valuation, but Song could be seduced for the idea to play in the best team in the world and ask for a transfer (I believe that's the Barcelona strategy).

He had one good season after he left us and even then he wasn't close to as good as he used to be. Just because two incidents happened at around the same time doesn't mean that there's a direct correlation between them.

We brought him back four years later to come off the bench for a couple of games, what does that have to do with anything?

Henry was 28 when he was sold to Barcelona.

He wasn't injury prone though, he played 40+ games for Barcelona in his first 2 seasons there.

40 games for 2 seasons is a low amount. Henry was injured a lot in the 06/07 too.
