It's better when you're actually watching the press conference.

So what would Allen actually bring to the team?
He just seems like he's good at keeping the ball but doesn't excel at anything else. Like passing or dribbling. Could just be another Henderson.

I think he can get forward which Henderson cannot do.
His passing and dribbling seems to be better than Henderson's.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
What Rodgers says is true though. He's basically saying that he definitely doesn't want to sell him but if by any chance we do sell him we could take one step back but three steps forward. Now I don't see how it's possible due to our current position but if we could sell Agger and bring someone even better in then that is obviously a good thing.El_indian wrote:Alan wrote:Rodgers: “Daniel and I have had a number of conversations so he knows where I am at, he knows where the club are at and he doesn’t want to leave which is great,”
“In my first conversation with Daniel at the Euros he made that quite clear. He loves the club, loves the supporters, so that was music to my ears. But we’ll see.”
Rodgers claimed that Paris Saint- Germain’s recent signing of Thiago Silva has established the market rate for central defenders. “Silva has left AC Milan for PSG for £40 million,” he said. “He [Agger] is one of the leading players in European football, so it is going to be a big valuation. Every player has a price and top centre halves are at a premium.”
...
Asked if Liverpool had received offers from City, Rodgers said: “Yes, but nowhere near the valuation of what the player is worth. You can only consider something like that if it is going to benefit you.
“Of course, you might lose a top player but if it benefits you going forward, and you can make two or three steps because of it, you may have to consider it. But we don’t want to sell him, so unless someone comes in with a ridiculous offer that makes you look at it and think you can benefit in one or two other areas, there is no way I want to lose one of my best players.
“Daniel is a top player and any manager will tell you that they don’t want to lose their best players. But I suppose at every club, every player has a price.”
I don't like this

I think Allen could do well. But we should not put unrealistic pressure & expectations on him with a huge price tag. 15 mill > should be good.

Nah, I'd miss your intentional, delightfully obnoxious racism if it ever decided to leave these shores.Jord wrote:Does this mean you're sick of my antics?Eternal Witcher wrote:I have been overly anti-racist on here recently, time to drop the act and be true.

£25million + Johnson would be fine.

That's a bloody good deal actually. It could potentially scare City off too, which is also a bonus.Eternal Witcher wrote:Total LFC@TheTotalLFC

The only way the Agger transfer could truly work out for us is if we spend the money on a good enough replacement.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
This transfer is currently a win/win.
@Jack_Sear_: Telegraph say Dempsey to LFC could move along quickly now because of possibility of Adam to Fulham in exchange.
@Jack_Sear_: Also say we want AJ whether or not Agger goes to them. Article written by Chris Bascombe.

I love Adam Johnson, possibly my fave PL winger. So underrated & wasted at City.

I rate Adam Johnson highly as well. Whenever I've seen him he's looked quite decent.. I said that about Downing too though.
How do you guys see this? I personally think it has a very nice attacking balance going.
Borini - Suarez - Johnson
Gerrard
Lucas - Allen
