You want a player of ours to flop to prove a point to some stranger? Pathetic

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
With Aquilani gone i'll take Allen. Don't want Henderson starting this season.
A skillful winger would be nice.

Good, we should also go for Van Persie as ive heard he is not happy at Arsenal. If we get them that should help Liverpool this season.Drew wrote:I don't think Ribery is happy at Bayern either.

He just signed a new deal so i doubt it will be the end of his Liverpool career. He has been looking really good lately and if he Shelvey keeps this form up, and keeps improving im expecting him to hopefully go on and have a good career with Liverpool.Ché Guayaba wrote:Allen is the end of Jonjo Shelvey's career.(at Liverpool)

Suarez will return to Melwood on Monday. Kop boss Rodgers insisted: “Opposition fans only give people stick as they are good players, bad ones don’t get it.
“I can’t wait to work with him.”
Liverpool will hold a behind-closed-doors game tomorrow to boost Daniel Agger and Andy Carroll’s fitness. Reds midfielder Alberto Aquilani has left for Fiorentina, freeing up a huge £6.5m-a-year in wages.

No he's not, he sort of plays like Lucas but in a more advanced role.Logic wrote:Allen is meant to be a deep lying playmaker right?

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Lucas is a defensive midfielder.
From what I've seen of Allen (which is very little), he is a deep-lying playmaker who will try to get forward and make late runs into the box.

He doesn't sit deep though, he was always the most advanced in the Swansea midfield.

I would prefer him to sit deeper than Gerrard.
Gerrard is boring in a deeper role.

Yeah I imagine he probably will, he'll be partnered with Lucas and then Gerrard will play where Sigurddsson did I think.El_indian wrote:I would prefer him to sit deeper than Gerrard.

Yeah I'd stick to talking about something you know about. Though I'm not sure what that is.
We're enjoying Jackson Martinez though.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Yeah that's exactly what he is. He has some of Lucas' traits in that he's very very tidy and he'll sit back and work hard but he's much better at getting forward and making runs into the box to support the attack.El_indian wrote:Lucas is a defensive midfielder.

Him and Lucas would gel very well together, it's a good balance too.

Guest wrote:"After costs, about nothing. It seems to be along the lines of Fiorentina will pay Liverpool 4M euros for the transfer. Liverpool will pay 200k euros to Roma and 3.4M euros to Aquilani to supplement his wages. I imagine the rest will disappear in fees. It is pretty much the "release" deal Aquilani and his agent have been trying for."
Brilliant stuff, roll on next season.

Not saying it is the end of his time at Liverpool but a new deal means fuck all. Nasri signed a new deal with Marseille then signed for Arsenal a week later.

Would rather have him sit deep tbh. Gerrard should always be getting forward to help the attack.
