Nah. Been there done that. Strayed from my convictions a lot as a teenager, I don't even know why, I knew it wasn't me, but I think I just did it to fit in and belong to something. I think I was pretty lonely as a child and a teenager. Paid a hefty price for it though and I'm still paying it for it actually.

I've become an extremely boring person and I'm lonelier than ever but I'm pretty content actually. Becoming Mr. Nice Guy has really ostracized me from many of my friends.

Agreed, self-satisfaction takes primacy.

No. But I got in a lot of trouble when I was 16 going on 17. Pretty much ruined my education. So I'm two years behind where I should be. I'm not the brightest person but I'm far from stupid and I feel I could of earned a degree by now.

For me my self satisfaction comes from helping others. I have a friends who calls it my "hero complex"

Trying to stay on the right side of the Helping/Patronizing line is quite troublesome. A lot of trial and error has taught me that baby steps is the right way to go.

I do that as well, I help people with homework and stuff and I have to make sure i'm not being patronising

I've not left, the irony in Daniel's post is rather strong seeing as most of those members are better than him. So he's more or less admitting that he is a cockroach.

The only ones who have actually left are Leo, RR and Mauro as far as I know. Forest sort of.
