We have a ridiculously racist film industry that love to portray stereotypes.
Think of the last film or tv show that starred a Latina that wasn't a maid, or a sex object.
Actually, for the most part the film industry treats women pretty bad too. Not as much as people of color though.
People just get used to it so don't notice it.

Only my mom is White. I'm like 3/4th Native. 
Luke Cage and Black Panther were based off stereotypes but they do have some very redeeming qualities. Mostly that they are the only sort of mainstream super heroes that were Black to begin with.
