Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
I agree that £30million is too much, but why are you willing to pay £26million but not £30million? Seems a little strange, correct decision though.

Paid £25M+ for Rooney when he was 18 too. If he becomes a phenomenal talent then he is well worth £3M a year for the next 10 years.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
but seriously £30m for Moura is ridiculous, wtf is Sao thinking. what has Moura done to deserve to valuation? has he done anything for Brazil??
i guess its just a matter of Sao not wanting to sell so they set a ridiculous price tag, and seeing as Moura is not desperate to leave they can do that freely

Would he have gone for that much if he was foreign though?Theo Filippo wrote:You didn't overpay for him.Danny wrote:Rooney was English though- overpay.
Tbf, he had just been one of the best players at Euro 2004.

Actually. According to the biggest sports paper in Brazil, Sao Paulo investors have urged the club to sell Lucas.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
I would go for Van Der Vaart.
De Gea
Jones - Ferdy - Vidic - Evra
Scholes - Carrick
Valencia - VDV - Kagawa
Rooney

Should've signed van der Vaart a long time ago.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
I'm guessing you still need an attacking midfielder then(Poor Anderson)? Kagawa shouldn't be played there. I watched a couple of Dortmund games on ESPN last season and he is EXTREMELY effective at cutting in from the left. Scored a ton of goals doing that. This is why you'll be fine without Nani or Young because he'll do this and put in a shift for the team. Valencia can do his usual great job on the right. Also forget Hernandez/Welbeck, Rooney should start on his own upfront.

Rooney upfront on his own is very frustrating.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
But he said himself that his favourite position is behind the striker. And we won't be fine without Nani or Young because that would mean we'd only have 2 players capable of playing on the left

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
I personally can't stand watching Rooney being played with a partner, he end ups coming in far too deep. With Kagawa, Valencia and another correct player he would have the perfect service and support. He'll score a ton of goals.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
I still think he does very well for us playing deep, he still got 34 goals last season behind the striker, I'm just glad we have 2 players now capable of playing there since I was always worried that he'd get injured and we'd be fucked in that position.

VDV is far too injury prone these days.

Because when he's played up front on his own recently he's had no fucking support. Maybe he will with Valencia, Kagawa, Nani/Young behind him.Viva Ronaldo 7 wrote:Rooney upfront on his own is very frustrating.
Didn't do too bad doing it for most of 09/10. Probably would have got 40+ goals but for his injury in Munich.

Also because when we do put him there it's in a match v a team we think we need 3 CM's.. which means they're good so it's going to be harder for him to shine.

All these stories about Lucas are getting rather annoying.. after saying we wont up our bid, now they're saying they wont rule out the possibility of him joining us.
