The bow is good if your a quick character. Just shoot and move around, you'll eventually take anything out. You can use Dragonborn jump (it's really just jumping, but no one else in the game can jump) too and reach somewhere that NPC's can't reach and pelt them with arrows. It's kinda cheap but early on before I used to do that against Tank bosses like Bandit Chiefs or Bandit Marauders. Bows aren't very good for dragon felling though. However, I don't think anything really is.
I don't really play this game to have the best weapons or armors or skills though. For example I'm a heavy armor specilist and the best heavy armor is Dragonbone (or Daedric depends on you ask) I have enough Dragon Bones to make at least 15 sets of Dragon Armor but I use Nordic Carved Armor because I think it looks better. It's more of an immersion thing for me. I like the Elder Scrolls world, so I like to make myself a character with a certain personality and chose to play that character like I think he'd react in every given situation. Like roleplaying. Kinda nerdy I know but it's fun for me.
Just finished Dawnguard. On the Dawnguard side of course.
