It's a little bit like how Arsenal were fantastic to watch in the 00s, but now the passing is too safe & the build up is too slow.
For the first one its clearly the lack of a striker like Villa, they choose not to bring Soldado which i think was a clear mistake now, they have 2 strikers with them that cant really participate in that style of play and Negredo who i really know don't know much about.
For Arsenal, the winning mentality is sort of gone i think, the killer instinct maybe, a team plagued my injures in a few years and now having to semi rebuild as other clubs dig in their teeth.
The way Germany plays pass and move reminds me a lot of Ajax rather than Spain/Barca, they don't incorporate the CB's as much but they haven't needed to either, but the way they move around each other and change positions is very similar, while still having the same basic setup with the mid-fielders and offense, at least the German team that played against Greece with the quicker wings than Podolski and Müller in the first 3 games.
2 days without any football now, then just Sunday and its all over, and then theres a whole month till the seasons begin to take form again

England-Germany would have been a fun game to watch in Mallorca but I'm happy with Italy going through, hopefully they beat Germany.

Correct. It's nice to be able to watch football as a neutral again.

Portugal is relatively simple to stop. Ronaldo is their main threat. If you can stop the ball from getting to him and exploiting the space behind him, they will lose. Spain will typically have the majority of possession, which makes Ronaldo less of a threat.
And more importantly, the Barca players will not allow the Madrid players of Portugal to defeat them again.

you know how many fucking teams in La Liga simply said "all we need to do is stop Ronaldo, without him they are nothing!" only to be shit on by him? Thats like being a coach and telling your team "just stop Messi guys." Some things cannot be done.

Are you seriously comparing Real Madrid and Barcelona to Portugal and Messi to Ronaldo?
I'm not saying that Portugal is a crap team without him, but Ronaldo isn't a creator like Messi. If you can stop him (which is a much easier task than stopping Messi), that's half of Portugal's threat gone.

Portugal has plenty of other threats, they beat Spain 4-0 last time they played and Spain started 10 world cup finalists. Not predicting that lopsided scoreline again but saying I think Portugal might have Spain's number. Ronaldo and Nani could definitely cause huge issues on the counter.

Italy is my new team now that the Netherlands are out....
So by my reasoning, Italy will beat Germany, and then win in the GF on pens.

Cristiano Ronaldo (30) has had more shots at the tournament than the entire England squad (29).

Spain are still favorites tbh. They aren't doing anything amazing, but they still dominate matches

It will be like the Spain-France game, with the same figures and stats as the Italy-England game.

Germany vs Italy, I will always remember this match
I remember this because I predicted Italy will win 2-0 after extra time. Felt good
Pirlo for the 1st goal

Germany are now in what they call there 'Golden Generation' and Italy are lacking top-quality young players.Kuled wrote:Germany vs Italy, I will always remember this match

Well it's kind of hard to when the opposing teams plays very defensive.
