Man Utd top. Nice to see Celtic doing well, gaining a 30% growth in brand value over the last 12 months and ahead of the likes of PSG and Atletico Madrid. Rangers nowhere to be seen.

Seems like nothing beats the Premier League for marketing.

Rangers will forever be immortalized for the glory of the Seventies Intertoto Cup.

Germany is doing alright too, Spain seems the worst for a league of their stature.

When it comes to marketing, they don't have much stature beyond Barca and Madrid. Those are really the only two internationally household names in that country.

The list itself has received a lot of exposure.

Brand Finance is an extremely reputable valuation firm with an impressive list of clientele. Jela is just mad that Celtic made the top 50 and Rangers didn't.

Considering our TV deal is probably the lowest and least marketed in the list it's actually an incredible achievement.

Yeah they included television money .. Take that away and we'd be a lot higher up.

It would be better if they went into detail with the figures. Would be interested to see the reasons for Ajax and Schalke's massive rise.

Without TV exposure you wouldn't even be on the list, for obvious reasons.

Getting on this list seems to be a bigger achievement than winning the SPL to Celtic fans

There are Championship sides a lot more well known globally than they are

Maybe. But being in the Championship hurts their brand value.

I think he meant if you take away TV money from everyone and they would be much higher.

But they wouldn't, they would be much lower. In terms of Brand Value TV money is only good for exposure. Without TV Money there is no international exposure, therefore the brand value would drastically decline for everyone, including Celtic.

The thing he's pointing out that Celtic are there with a lot less TV money than anyone else, if EVERYONE had no TV money they would be a lot higher in that table because they don't rely on TV money as much as others.

LOOOOOOL, how can you be so thick? Celtic have far less to lose relative to other teams if you take away TV deals because ours is so shit. How the hell would we be 'much lower' if you took away the TV deals from everyone or ignored it as part of calculating brand value?

I don't get it. Without TV Money the only thing that changes is exposure... with less exposure Celtic's brand would be weakened, not strengthened. I can't see how an overall global decline in brand value due to minimized exposure would help Celtic's rank at all, I might be missing something though.

If you disregarded TV deals as part of brand value Celtic would be much higher in the list, because our TV deal only makes up a tiny amount of our brand compared to the other teams. If TV money did not exist the same would be true, because even if we might be slightly less valuable, the other teams would be far, far less valuable given their dependency on TV.
