The only ideal I have with regard to this is that I don't believe anyone should suffer eternal punishment, I think it is extremely reasonable. When you go so categorically against that - worshipping a being which according to your belief system will send me, and most of the people I love and care for to hell, I am repulsed.

If someone said he was going to torture and rape your family until they died, and I believed they were capable of doing it, how would you feel if I publicly worshipped that person, and said everything they do is right. Would you work with me to make the world a better place?

Here's the thing - you can elevate 10 billion people from absolute poverty to the highest quality of life in the developed world, and that still doesn't offset one person suffering eternal punishment. And I can't help billions, you're trying to create a false dichotomy.

You deserve eternal punishment because you sin, as we all do. It's more than clear that the punishment for sin is death. The punishment for it is death, thus if you sin, someone must die. I'm pretty sure that is why Christians say God's son died came to earth and died for humanity. For all of our sins, forever, so that we would not have to die.

I am more than certain that the last thing my christian friends would want is for me to spend an 'eternity' in hell. Maybe that is why they constantly talk about him to me.
