He's has the worst win percentage of any Premier League Wigan manager.
He's set numerous goals conceded records.

I can't believe fannies like you notice him for the last month or two of the season and think fuck me he could manage Liverpool. Every season there's always a relegation scrapper that beats the drop. Ok he's done it a few times but that doesn't qualify him for the Liverpool job.

Rafa is interested. A CL, La Liga, UEFA Cup, and FA cup winner but we're going for Martinez.

That is why he should not be offered the job.

He has his squad stripped every season! Not only has he shown he can beat the drop with the worst team in the division, he has also proven he is not scared to change things and also is intelligent enough to change things correctly. All this while not altering the way he likes the game to be played, a type of game which is much better suited to better players.

Someone has to give him a chance, and when he is given that chance I'm 100% sure he'll take it. As for Benitez, he wont fit in with the way the club are going, he wont have full control and it'll just be a waste of time.

I hope he doesn't go to Liverpool anyway, the fans will try to ruin his career. The guy is fairly loyal with ambition, exactly what Liverpool need right now.

That's fair enough but considering we still see ourselves as CL hopefuls and have been out of it for a while, I don't think we should be taking gambles at this time and giving him his chance. Let him go to Villa and see how he does there, if he excels then maybe come to us after. But we're in no position to be taking fucking huge gambles right now.

We don't have a squad, or even first team fit enough for the CL and I don't think Martinez is the man to build that for us right now. I'd feel much safer with Benitez who made us feared in Europe and who's biggest transfer fee spent was just over 20m.

Dalglish was a risk too, a massive risk, Liverpool need someone to build for the future. Not someone who will stick around for a couple of years before retiring/moving on. Martinez doesn't want to go to Villa, he rejected them last season when they where clearly in a better situation than now. I don't actually think Martinez would need to do much to the squad either. The keeper and defence are perfect for the way he'll play, striker wise you're sorted with Suarez and have decent back up, Gerrard will be pushed forward behind him and only 1 winger will be needed then as you've already got decent backup. It is just the centre of midfield that needs quality as there is no one there currently.

You make it sound like you need someone to come in and completely rip the squad apart, it's literally 3, maybe 4 first team players and then your current first team players will be pretty good backup.

Gerrard can't hack it anymore. Suarez will be gone after next season (There's not a chance in hell of us finishing top 4 next season). I'd honestly fuck off every single midfielder except Lucas. Bellamy died off in the games he managed to play. Agger is still a crock who'll miss large parts of the season. Skrtel's gotten too big for his boots.

There's a lot of work to be done.

Who's to say if Rafa is interested? and even if he is, look what we happened when we brought a former manager back last time, disaster.

Martinez is a very nice guy, and a class manager, he will do good if he comes.

Of course, nothing to do with the fact he's a very good manager and not stubborn/arrogant like our last one

Its a funny old game, but i thought that 1984 was going to be the only time i would see Liverpool win the European cup, but 21 years later it happened. eek You just never know with football.

It will be interesting to see who Martinez decides to spend the transfer money on. If Martinez joins us, I'm pretty certain Moses will end up following him. I'm not expecting anyone big though.

I don't think we should, he looked pretty good in the beginning of the season, it was not until that arrogant tosser Gerrard returned that Adam had a dip in form. He also set up a decent number of goals, from memory.
