It seems like they're going to take longer than that though.
The EUROs are coming up and all the players who we should be looking at will be there so that'll be another 2/3 weeks when we can't buy players, it's so annoying!

I think it's probably going to be a big anti-climax. The manager we sign will be a 'wtf' moment, and we'll continue to be shit. Imo, ofc.

Dean wrote:It can work, you just need the right people in the right areas. It's a risk, yes. Henry and co want a complete restructure, and want specialists for everyone chosen field. So we won't encounter another Comolli situation...hopefully.
The reason why it didn't work with Comolli was because he was taking care of everything. Kinda like a jack of all trades but a master of none. And in the end, he was just well out of his depth. With someone like Van Gaal, Txixi, Dein...we certainly won't be paying £20m for the Downings of this world.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich are the perfect examples of how we're going to try and operate. It's worked with them, so why not us?
I didn't know it was that easy to be honest. So we just have to look at how a top club is run and copy that? Fuck me I don't know why every club in the world doesn't do that, it worked for Bayern and Barca.
Number 6+19 here we come

Stephen Martin @stephen1martin
If it's true fsg have declined Capello's 'reluctant offer', I'm thinking they've made their decision. Maybe the AVB rumours have substance.

I'd love Van Gaal as a manager nevermind director of shithouse. I rate him highly and think he's class.
And Talksport can fuck off.

You are a doughnut. Tony Evans is editor of The Times. He just used Talksport as his mouthpiece.

I won't believe that for a second His age/wages are the only reasons why FSG would ever tell Capello no.Mustangt125 wrote:If we "turned down" Capello then we are truly fucked

I'm just waiting for the moment this thread gets like 8 new pages in a day, then I'm sure the new manager would be announced.

Evans is a right bellend. It's Barrett who actually knows stuff.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Van Gaal would be good for you guys , he has his very own philosophy and playing style though, doesn't always get on with the board as seen with Bayern. He's well known for promoting youth players, done it at Ajax and Barcelona a lot. He promoted the likes of Müller and Alaba for Bayern as well. Sterling, Suso and the likes will certainly get minutes under him.
His playing style can be a bit boring though, he's very fond of short passing and his substitiutions and tactical changes were poor at Bayern in general.
Another pro if he would sign for you is that Alan could refer to a rather strange full name again: Aloysius Paulus Maria „Louis“ van Gaal

Oh for fuck sake, i'll be annoyed if that's true.
There aren't any quotes though, so I still have hope.

Again, no quotes. But that's annoying. We'll end up with Martinez, i feel sick at the prospect

Guardiola
de Boer
Klopp
Capello
Villas-Boas
Martinez
If the AVB rumours are true, I think it's fairly obvious that Martinez will be our new manager.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Apparently Rodgers wouldn't turn us down if we actually offered him the job, he just didn't like the idea of being one of a number of candidates. Not that I would want Rodgers, but I would want him over Martinez probably.

I'd take Rodgers over Martinez as well.
I'd put my house on it being Martinez though

We could be looking back on this in a year after Martinez lead us to top 4 and laugh about it.

Could be, Cam. I was thinking about that. What if we could hypnotize him and make him believe that everyone below fourth gets relegated. Maybe we'll be shit for half a season then win every game in the second half.

I honestly can't see him doing a better job than some of the other candidates that we've been talking to.
