It's silly to compare Suarez to Van Persie. The latters finishing is on a completely different level.

Ah, okay. I don't think he's the right man for Liverpool anyway. At this point it's difficult to tell how good a manager he really is so he's better off proving himself at Ajax first.

Great read and i did not and still dont want to have a go at the owners and everyone, because people would have just said its all because of Dalglish being my hero. But ive still got my thoughts on what has happened and whats going to happen in the future. So i will give them time to see how things go before i would make my judgement on the things thats happening at Liverpool.Jordo wrote:http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=22080

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Do you know the really interesting bit mate, this bit.
"To get it straight, I think we should avoid the natural temptation to jump straight in to the deal with NESV. Whilst they are charming, intelligent and credible their bid is by any standards at the extreme bottom end of the 'right deal' threshold we set for ourselves: it only reduces debt by less than half and is I feel unlikely to yield incremental equity to fund a stadium.
If a month before the Club was sold FSG's bid was less than half the debt then it was way below what they eventually bought the Club for. That leaves two possible conclusions for me.
1. Either someone tipped off FSG about the value of Lim's bid and they matched it. OR
2. The terms of the sale allowed the bidding parties to increase their bids.
If it was number two why was Lim's bid of another £30m rejected ? Especially when Lim was prepared to bankroll a transfer kitty.

The thing about who is advising FSG for me is that it is not people from within the Club, it is not people who have a stake in the Club and it is not people who have anything to gain by Liverpool doing well. We are asking our competitors for advice. We have reportedly consulted Arsenal people like Edelman and Dein and Ajax's Cruyff. Why would they pass on their hard earned Football acumen to Henry and FSG.
It reminds me of Coaches coming to Anfield looking for the secret of our success in the 70's and 80's and being told there was none and then being invited into the bootroom where Bugsy and Joe would pump them for information on their young players over a drink. How much are FSG gaining in these cosy chats with people from other Clubs and how much are they giving up.
Why aren't we getting the likes of Kenny, Hansen and Barnes in positions with in the upper echelons of the Club and using our brains trust instead of thinking that our competitors will give up theirs.

Whilst Purslow had no right to interfere and play Football manager with the Club he is a Graduate of Harvard Business School and jointly setup Mid Ocean Partners a New York Based Private Equity firm, a multi billion dollar enterprise so he clearly has a nose for finance. In a internal email to Nash and Ayre on the 15th of September 2010 he wrote.
"To get it straight, I think we should avoid the natural temptation to jump straight in to the deal with NESV. "They may say they have money if necessary but I do not take this very seriously. Their eyes only lit up at the idea of other opportunity improvements. An American deal guy simply can't avoid using other people's money if they can.
"There is no extra money on the table to enable short-term investment in what remains a squad palpably needing more quality if we are to be definitively top four. New American sport team owners with the senior guy being a hedge fund manager could not be worst [sic] from an image standpoint, which is an issue for us independents. I have not even talked about valuation. I leave that to other members of the board. So what is positive? Answer, they exist. Which is not a lot, but it is not to be underestimated in importance."
I think that email has stood the test of time don't you ?

Hugely disappointing, Ayre was unfortunately unable to sell any shirts with Rafa on the back in Asia. Seriously why would a Commercial Director have a relationship with the manager, it is only since Ayre has filled Cecil's cuban heels that Ayre has had a relationship with the Liverpool's manager.
It was funny watching the Kop Kids thing on LFCTV in which Ayre was telling a young lad that his role was to run the Club. Funny how he forgot about his role when the Suarez affair kicked off but remembered it when there was brownie points to be earned on Sky. I have a feeling Peter Robinson wouldn't of been found hiding under his desk with his fingers in his ears when the Suarez issue surfaced.

It was FSG's man Comolli who stated that the spending spree was over and that we had a perfectly balanced squad. If we are to believe the story that Meireles surprisingly put in a transfer request at the last minute then we were already one CM short going into the season.
The season without Europe was expected to be 40-45 games in length, when we lost Lucas for the entire season and it became clear we were going to be playing close to 50 games why wasn't the Meireles money re-invested in January ?.
If it was because FSG didn't trust Kenny and Comolli to spend anymore money then wouldn't it be fairer to judge the season upto January. Upto January we were a couple of points of the top 4 with all our rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs having to come to Anfield. We had take 34 points from 19 games which would of put us on course for 68 points.
For me it was the T-shirt row and the reaction of the sponsors that spelled the end of Kenny's reign. The plug was pulled on the January spending, Kenny was hung out to dry and Ayre looked to distance himself from the fall out by forcing Kenny and Suarez to apologise.
We went from a Club that was going to fight the Suarez case to the bitter end to a Club that filled it's pants and apologised to all and sundry the second the sponsors put their nose in. From that moment the off the record briefings went from supporting Kenny to the drip drip drip that accompanies a dead man walking.
The Club allowed Kenny and Luis to be branded racists and looked to cover it's arse with Ayre giving his puke inducing interview with Sky in which he sought to distance the Club from Kenny. Forget the Club's socialist principles and desire to do the right thing and embrace Corporate greed and the backstabbing of a fella who has dedicated a massive chunk of his life to the Club and even now cannot bring himself to criticise the Club. Kenny is worth more than the whole of FSG put together.

Or he could have bought on in the summer when we were spunking loads of players we didn't really need.
But hey it's all FSG's fault
