Why would you need to go to college with 5A's, lol?

College is for cretins who can only achieve 1/2 Highers.

With 3 or more, you can go to Uni.

Everyone in 5th year is 16.

Do you guys honestly NEED to go to College before Uni? Like with 5 A Level's, you can't go to Uni straight away?

Assuming A Level's are better than GCSE's? If not, it's the other way about. i.e. with 5 GCSE's you can't go straight to college?

And you lot need to pay for Uni, it's free here lol.

No, you need at least 5 GCSE's to get into to College, then once in College you need more often than not need 3 A Levels to get a place at Uni.

I swear in Scotland they don't use GCSEs and A-Levels.

You can get into local Uni's with 3 Highers i.e. BBC or something.

To go to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee something like that you need 5 A's.

College is free you bellend. Only things you pay for is a bus pass and some text books.

The Scottish education system makes me want to commit.

Can ruin your life two years earlier.

You don't pay for college here and going to uni at 16 would be a complete waste, you wouldn't be able to live on your own. The only possible explanation I can think of here is that Scottish 'uni' is just their word for college. If so, it's easy to get into college.

We don't. It's Standard Grade's and Highers.

Highers, you need to get into Uni. SG's = College i.e. you do at 15 (in 4th year).

Highers = 16 & 17 (sometimes 18 if you got kept back in Primary School or whatever).

We are blessed to have such a personality like Jela on our forum

Neither the English nor the Scottish education system has anything to shout about, if we are considering primary/secondary schools. The German system is far superior.
