Fuck again?
Santos hasn't been doing to hot recently though. Olympic gold medalist Peralta has been playing a lot of football recently and he'll probably be rested.
Of course there's still Hercules to take his place.

Where does that rivalry come from anyways? Because of the areas? DC vs NY?

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
Yeah, general dislike between New York and Washington. It doesn't really apply to other sports though. Wizards/Bullets and Knicks (and Nets) have sucked for so long that no one cares about them. Giants and Redskins (why is that still a team name?) kinda are a rivalry, but Giants/Jets and Redskins/Cowboys are bigger rivalries.
Yankees have Boston, plus, baseball was on and off in DC for the longest time. Mets aren't even a rival now of the Nationals. Rangers and Capitals in hockey aren't in the same division, so they haven't really been rivals either (playoffs nonwithstanding).
I think the NY-DC rivalry in MLS was born out of the fact that when the league created they just became natural rivals, due to the proximity. New York is just as close to DC as it is to Boston, and so I think it just kind of happened. I can't remember if they pushed the rivalry back then, but it's definitely been elevated of late, even though there are actual rivals in the league now.
Course, there could have also been a rivalry between the Dips and the Cosmos, but that was before my time.

Actually take that all back. New York is just still butt hurt that DC took the capital status away from New York City.
Doesn't help that they have never won a trophy either.

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
That makes sense.
The capital thing that is.
I've been watching the Toronto vs Santos Laguna match and it's kinda frustrating to watch. I get the impression that Santos played at half gas for most of the half, feel like they think that'll be enough to walk away with something.
They did the same thing against Aguilas and won but Toronto is better than Aguilas.
Hopefully, Galindo has a word with them, open up the game a bit more.

I don't like the new 3 team format. Think it will affect the games like that. Santos up now though.

1-1 TFC and Santos Laguna 87th minute.
There was a black cat that ran right across our keeper's net. Not a good sign.

What a goal. Thought Santos Laguna was going to pay for being so complacent in the first half.

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
Santos have done the same play over and over again, I don't know how our defenders and midfielders haven't picked it up. The centre forward posts up back to the defenders and the second forward passing up to him doing a give-and-go. They did it a few times in the first half and almost scored off one of them.

Don't know why Mariner insists on playing Eckersley at CB. He's much more valuable at RB rushing forward. He's not strong and composed enough to play at CB.

Don't you guys have a bunch of injuries there though?
And Caleb Porter is going to be announced as the new Portland manager tomorrow. Though I think he'll finish the year at Akron then take over for 2013.
