The goal wasn't entirely his fault. It was that idiot Lahoud.Scuba Steve wrote:.......except for the goal.........and Konopka is the actual name of the keeper.

If Williams clears the ball out instead of trying to dribble past 8 attackers...

I'll allow (because he'll be with the national team at some point), but not when it results in a loss to the worst team in the world*

In fairness to him, he is an attacking right back, but he has been played in the middle recently; he has to learn to be more conservative in his play there.

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
Yeah, forgot they moved him in because Califf became "useless". It's a shame, right backs and left backs aren't groomed in the US or MLS -- the best defenders play as center backs, and everyone else just fills in.

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
Exactly. There are too many "utility players." The Farfan twins are incredibly talented attacking midfielders, and yet they have been playing at left wing or left back for the majority of their time here. There's no specialization.

Disgraceful game lol. Looked like it was a game of Stuart Downings vs Stuart Downings if Downing was even more shit.

The only moment of quality was Farfan's ridiculous 30 yard shot off of the crossbar.

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
Our goal was so shit. It looked like Koevermans wasn't even trying, he hardly even hit the first shot he just tapped it at the goalkeeper and luckily he spilled it right to him.
He's clearly too cool for the worst club in the world.

After the game, he was clearly celebrating and swaggering about as if he scored that goal for himself, and not the team. At least, that is the impression I got.Jorlung wrote:Our goal was so shit. hype killed him already, he's the next Adu. Soon he'll leave the MLS not to be seen again for years

I don't think he'll be Adu, but the hype was too much. Being knocked down by Hans and the US might have been the best thing to happen to him.

San Jose Earthquakes are doing well this season. Been following them since they are my local team and play at my university. Would go to more matches but hate our old university stadium. The new one is suppose to be built soon but construction still hasn't started.
Was disappointed to see Wondolowski not get subbed in during the US beat down on Scotland.

I swear we're the only MLS team that doesn't have someone that's fast as fuck.

Always thought Plata and Johnson were a bit quick.Jorlung wrote:I swear we're the only MLS team that doesn't have someone that's fast as fuck.
Might be getting this off fifa though.
Plata sure looked pretty quick against Santos Laguna.
Then again, pretty much everyone in Mexican football is overweight.

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
TBH think Plata looks quicker than he is because he is like 4' 11''. He is pretty quick though to be fair. Johnson isn't really that quick, he's not slow by any means but pace isn't really his #1 weapon.
And also Winter has "stepped down"
