Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Any proof that better clubs were after him? With all due respect to United, City looked like a better team at the time and their future looked much brighter (it still does). I doubt he cares much about the history.Fonseca wrote:kyro7 wrote:Well he's got a point as far as moving to City was the best move for him, better team and more money.
He's a bit harsh but with the stick he's got it's understandable.
He had the choice of better clubs and Man U, money was a main factor
I'd like to see him played on the left more often. He seems like a better player playing on the left and isn't as one dimensional.Steadman wrote:Walcott's passing has improved to be fair to him. He works much better when he cuts inside and lets Sagna/Coquelin/Jenkinson make some overlapping runs. Thing with Walcott though is that he often isolates himself playing very wide, and when he receives the ball, he seems to be too scared to run at the opposition full backs nowadays.
He should be looking to cut inside whenever he can and link up more with our central players because his off the ball movement is very underrated.
What a load of shitAriseForLife wrote:I've lot tremendous respect for Nasri since he left. He's in denial if he thinks it wasn't about money. Nasri was hardly a factor in City winning the league and he makes it seem like him going there is a reason they won. He started off well but after the opening of the season he was average at best. I see that Van Persie is linked with City. If Arsenal lose Van Persie I just might have to burn my allegiance to the club, because we will truly be a feeder club if this happens.
He's played about 40 games for them this season? Around 20 or so which were in the league. He also has over 10 goals and assists. Considering they were level on points and only won by GD its fair to say he DID contribute to their title win. Also it seems very likely that we'll lose RVP. Call us a feeder club whatever, nobody can blame him for wanting to leave if he does.
We've almost certainly lost RVP

Lol at UTD bidding £8m. Those links are just about UTD though, not better teams than City. Money was obviously a factor, but its harsh to say he left ONLY for the money.Fonseca wrote:Yes Grenade

Who cares if he chose City? City were obviously in a better position than us and after the summer they had it was obvious they would be challenging for the title.
I've never questioned Nasri's motives since his departure, and yes, money was obviously a factor, but trophies and the chance to be a part of the City dominance era were on his mind too.

I cba to find anything remotely credible about the other clubs bit, but it's kinda obvious

Chamberlain because he isn't a lesbian
Nasri could have more talent than Messi but because he's such a lesbian he wouldn't do a single thing with it

Maybe obviously for you but over the course of the 2012/2013 season I wonder who would contribute more for their team. Whether it be them playing in Arsenal or City's system I believe Chamberlain would be more productive.Theo Filippo wrote:At this moment in time, Nasri obviously.

I don't think Chamberlain will be first choice yet though, I think we will have to wait until the 2013/14 season for him to be a guaranteed starter.Chris wrote:Maybe obviously for you but over the course of the 2012/2013 season I wonder who would contribute more for their team. Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Do you think Gervinho will start over him or typical Wenger playing one winger and an attacking midfielder opposite? I could see him sticking Rosicky out there just to piss us off.Theo Filippo wrote:I don't think Chamberlain will be first choice yet though, I think we will have to wait until the 2013/14 season for him to be a guaranteed starter.Chris wrote:

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Presuming Van Persie stays, Podolski and Walcott will probably be first choice on each wing. I don't mind the attacking midfielder on the opposite wing it lets us go into a compact diamond formation off the ball especially in the away games like Everton, Stoke and QPR (Even though we lost that).Chris wrote:Do you think Gervinho will start over him or typical Wenger playing one winger and an attacking midfielder opposite? Yeah I wouldn't really use it in the champions league, it's just a useful tactic to have though.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
I think it's a shit tactic because against weaker teams we should be trying to rape them with players like Chamberlain, but instead Wenger would push a decent attacking midfielder like Rosicky out wide to include a clown like Ramsey which weakens the team.

Snooby pls.Robin van Persie 'offered £6m-a-year Juventus deal' ahead of Arsenal talks
Arsenal will open new contract talks with Robin van Persie on Wednesday, and attempt to convince him to snub interest from Manchester City and Juventus.

If he moves to Juve I will lose all hope.
Plus we can easily offer £6 million a year to van Persie, and we should. Just offload the shit and reassign their wages to Robin.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
I disagree with anyone who says that Nasri's decision to leave was justified. Sure, City won the league this year and we finished 19 points below them but that gap could have been drastically reduced if we'd had Nasri all year in the team instead of Ramsey or Gervinho. Plus, you have to consider that he was partially responsible for the turmoil surrounding the club at the beginning of the season. That probably cost us a couple of points as well. Take all those factors into account, as well as subtract the points that Nasri has earned City this year, and you realise that the gap is by no means as huge as some would like to think. Once you reach that conclusion, it becomes clear that the move was purely financially motivated.
