I only allow myself to quit and restart one match a season. And I only do it if it's something really stupid like the keeper walking out of the box with the ball in his hand, a defender kicking the ball out for a corner when he had the whole time in the world to turn around and play it.

Is there such a youth player as Clint Mustoe? He scored 15 goals in the final 5 league games for my Lincoln team in League 1.

that happens to me every single match though
the only time i quit and restart is if a player gets injured for 4+ months. when that happens in FM, they never fully recover. it's a career ender

I meant if it results in a important loss/draw.

It's just so frusterating at times. I have 11 shots, and only 2 of them are on target. I end up losing the game. This has become an all too familiar sight for my Juventus side (just traded of Dortmund for Juventus, though the Dortmund fans weren't happy). I don't know who else to buy. I am playing Pato and Huntelaar up front. Literally, if they can't finish I have no idea who can. But, obviously, here pops up some seriously under preforming grandpa of a striker and puts the opponent team 1-0 up with their second shot on target.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
My main issue with the game is the scheduling. I find it impossible to avoid injuries because I end up playing 3-4 games a week at times, and even if you rest the players in between they still end up starting games with 80%'s. I just played a league game with Sandhausen, had a Pokal match 3 days later which I lost in ET, then a league game two days after that.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
I haven't really had much trouble with scheduling. There are weeks were I could have games 3 days apart, but other than that it's usually just like in real life. My players have the stamina too, so they start matches with conditions in the high 80s to low 90s.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
One of my biggest grievances with the game is my players randomly declining.
For instance, in my old Newcastle save, I bought Rondon. He was 23, and I played him around 60 games a season. He had next to no long term injuries due to his amazing physical stats. Yet I catch him randomly declining in important striker stats like Dribbling, Finishing and Acceleration? It's incredibly frustrating. Eventually I downloaded FMRTE for the sole reason of preventing this. This kind of thing never happened in FM 11, why is it happening in 12? There is no reason for a fully fit 23 year old striker, starting almost every game, to decline like that. Is this a bug? I know it does not only happen to me, as I goggled it and found an SS of 23 year old Sidney Sam having red arrows in nearly every stat.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
Do any of you know how to play Fernando Llorente?
I have a player in an FM save who will be almost identical to him stats wise in a couple of seasons and I have no idea how to play him. He looks like a good target man but I've used target men in the past and they have been shit

I personally had great success with Llorente as an advanced forward, playing mostly on the ground. For some reason aerial ability is useless in Football Manager aside from Corners.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
From my experience, Llorente is probably the best poacher in the game. Serious.
Had the team shout as "get ball forward" and "pass into space", set Llorente on run onto ball and that was pretty much it.

Nick Powell always seems to only get sold for about 600k on my saves, I've never sold or bought him personally though.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
I don't usually like playing with wingers in my formations, so should I play with fullbacks or wingbacks? I have never tried playing with a wingback before. Does it leave your defense too vulnerable?
I'm with Southampton. I've got a great centerback partnership. Here are my two starting fullbacks' stats. I'm looking to find a better left back to start over Fox...
Fox (LB)
Trasch (RB)
So based on those attributes (at least for Trasch's) are they capable of playing the wingback roles? Is it worth it? I want to know if playing with wingbacks in general is good if I don't play with wingers. I can worry about if I have the players for those roles later. I can always just buy the right players for the roles.

Fox could probably do a good job as a Wing-Back but I'm not to sure about Trasch. I'd give it a go personally.

Personally, I have had bad experiences with wing backs. I just use attacking full backs. Same thing but they defend more, and won't get caught out as often by counter attacks. For me wing backs don't come back as far to defend. I guess its better if you don't mind coinciding a several goals a game, and if your wing backs have extremely low stamina (attacking full backs need high stamina stats).

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
I wouldn't play those guys as wing backs as their pace is a bit slow, imo. I generally play full backs unless they have pace of at least 14+ and good marking. You could try to play Trasch as a FB/A, but his passing is pretty low. With Fox only having 12 for pace and marking I'd also be more careful.

I have the complete opposite experience. If you play your defense deep enough (a notch or so before deep), wingbacks are massive defensively, in my experience much better than fullbacks, and do so many awesome things going forward it's crazy. You just overload their wings with your wingbacks, and they track back masterfully.

!@#$%T^U&^%$#@ you flipping complacent kunts! i was winning 4-1 away vs bayern then i concede 3 goals in the final 25 minutes
omfg. this is brutal. i wasn't expecting to win this match. i'd rather lose 0-1 than lose a 3-goal advantage like that. i think this was the first time i yelled at my screen while playing FM
