Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
He's gone.
finances are a bit better now but he was my best player. Pissed off isn't the word.
Lost the play-off final and another season in League One. Signings so far have been legend Youl Mawene from Aberdeen and Nigel Hasselbaink of St.Mirren on frees, and loans of Daniel Alfei (Swansea), Conor Sammon (Wigan) and Joao Silva (Everton)

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
Started another save in Jan, Saints were 5th, now we're second in March without losing a game since I took over. Need to strengthen my RW

Great signings, especially Nigel Hasselbank.Ben 10 wrote:He's gone.

Silva's decent. Had him at Watford.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
I spent the last almost hour setting up everything for a new save (i.e. tactics, player instructions, possible signings, filters, custom views, selecting my set piece takers, etc.), then my game froze and I had to shut FM down. All of that hard work = GONE!

I'm going to try this if I need to park the bus.

I made it even worse. I realized you can take that DM and put him in the back line. So now it's a 9-0-1.

I'm playing as Stalybridge Celtic. I just started the save, it's just one of my three tactics that I want my team to master in case I ever have to use it.

Don't use press more, that will just lure your defenders out of position and create space.

The engine is ridiculously midfield biased, stick all your players in midfield and defensive midfield positions with two centrebacks as "sweepers" (not in the sweeper position), or place two fullbacks on the side (although I haven't tried that), and the engine for some reason assumes your midfield crushes the opponents midfield. 3 Defensive midfielders is oddly enough far more effective than 3 central defenders.

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
I have decided I shall take charge of Wigan as like a career save. I will have my Bayern München one as like a money save where I just win everything because my team is amazing. While using this Wigan save as my actual challenge save, I used Wigan on FM11 and it was my favourite save
hopefully this one will be just as fun. I plan to sell off many players

I gave Hereford a sugar daddy and I'm going to buy them to the top.
It would be more challenging to do it normally, but I just like having a shit squad and a lot of money. Room and means for improvement you know.

You should do Bristol Rovers, or someone should.

I had no money with Roma, and yet that remains my favorite save. I miss Bordoni so badly. Nurtured from a somewhat inconsistent 15 year old to a World player of the year contender at the age of 19

There are times you get saves like that, where you end up ruining it by leaving for a club with a bigger bank or just start a new save. My Marseille save was ended when my other laptop broke, not been able to get into FM since.

Having the exact same problem. After Roma nothing seems challenging or fun enough...

Re: The Football Manager Chat Thread!
I think it's because I'd gone really far in it, rebuilt my team and developed players myself on a tight budget. I also had the aim of winning the Champions League for the first time despite having played 10 seasons or something.
