No, just meant Sagna and Abidal. Debuchy will do a fine job though at right back. Evra on the other hand...

I don't want to see Gibbs start at left-back ever again. I'd much rather have Santos. At least he knows how to cross a fucking ball and offers some attacking threat. Gibbs is just fucking useless. Constantly out of position and so wasteful in the final third.

Mertesacker isn't really that great. People are starting to exaggerate how good he was after seeing a couple of horror shows from Vermaelen. Fact of the matter is though, we were playing our best football when Koscielny and Vermaelen were in the centre of defence. Yeah, Mertesacker isn't an impulsive dickhead who runs out of position every five minutes but he can't play a high line like Vermaelen does. When Koscielny and Vermaelen get it right (see second game against Milan, especially the first half) we look much better. They know how to play a high offside trap that doesn't allow teams to put pressure on us. Mertesacker cannot do that because of the fact that he's far too slow, immobile and clumsy.
