That's hardly a good thing, if he doesn't sign a new deal, you're willing to lose one of the best strikers in the world for free.

He's not stupid, he's not going to let him leave for free.

Hmm, if he doesn't want to be here I doubt he'll play that well and we'd lose a lot of money if he just left for free, money which won't be spent the right way though most likely .

We should just sell him to Juve for £30mill and be done with it, I'm sure we could find a good replacement with that much money.

I can honestly not imagine Robin Van Persie in any other club, just like seeing Henry in Barca felt wrong, I think I'd feel the same way about Van Persie.

Vermaelen out and Vertonghen in or keep Vermaelen and miss out on Vertonghen, what would you guys prefer and why?

Vertonghen's a real world beater on his day and you'd probably make a profit when selling Vermaelen and bringing in Vertonghen aswell. Vermaelen puts in the occasional goal (six goals this season), though, and Vertonghen will need some time to adapt to the EPL.

Vermaelen is a great leader too, why else would he be vice-captain.

I'd prefer both. They are both Belgian which is a plus and can't Vertonghen play in defensive mid also?

Through achievements. Obviously we'd make more by just relying on Podolski and selling RVP but that could bite us on the arse.

I think he could adapt successfully. I thought he was all right playing there when we had injuries. Obviously a bit of perseverance with it would benefit him, because it will be hard to master, but I think he could end up like, say, Ivanovic, and become a solid player there.
