That's hardly a good thing, if he doesn't sign a new deal, you're willing to lose one of the best strikers in the world for free.

Hmm, if he doesn't want to be here I doubt he'll play that well and we'd lose a lot of money if he just left for free, money which won't be spent the right way though most likely .Rick Rosstrich wrote:@johncrossmirror: #afc Wenger says RvP will stay even if he doesn't sign new deal. Obviously I hope he extends his contract though, still have hope.

I'm sick of this will he stay or will he go bullshit, every fucking year it's the same thing over and over again.
We should just sell him to Juve for £30mill and be done with it, I'm sure we could find a good replacement with that much money.

I still stand by my statement. I don't want another Farbregas/Nasri situation, I would rather just have it sorted out as soon as possible.

Don't worry, Splashy. You can always go back to supporting Borussia Dortmund if he leaves.

Shits going down here.
Selling van Persie would be suicide, Wenger should fight to the end to keep him.

We'd probably make more money by letting Van Persie's contract run down than selling him now. Super srs too.

I can honestly not imagine Robin Van Persie in any other club, just like seeing Henry in Barca felt wrong, I think I'd feel the same way about Van Persie.

If they bid big for Vermaelen I would accept it, I love the Verminator and all and he's a good defender, but he can be replaced.
But is has to be a big bid.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Vermaelen out and Vertonghen in or keep Vermaelen and miss out on Vertonghen, what would you guys prefer and why?
Vertonghen's a real world beater on his day and you'd probably make a profit when selling Vermaelen and bringing in Vertonghen aswell. Vermaelen puts in the occasional goal (six goals this season), though, and Vertonghen will need some time to adapt to the EPL.

I would cry.
We have to stop the trend of our talismen leaving, it all started with Vieira and Henry and escalated.

Depends on the profit margin.
Vermaelen is a great leader too, why else would he be vice-captain.

Push Vermaelen LB and put Vertonghen at CB

I'd prefer both. They are both Belgian which is a plus and can't Vertonghen play in defensive mid also?

Terrible idea. He has already said that he hates playing there.

Through achievements. Obviously we'd make more by just relying on Podolski and selling RVP but that could bite us on the arse.

I think he could adapt successfully. I thought he was all right playing there when we had injuries. Obviously a bit of perseverance with it would benefit him, because it will be hard to master, but I think he could end up like, say, Ivanovic, and become a solid player there.
